Mercedes w212 blower motor replacement on E350! Step by step DIY!

This video is about Mike Icee replacing a blower motor in a W212 E350 because the fan is making noise and he is sick of the noise! You’ll see a step by step DIY to know what’s involved. Can the old unit be fixed? No, because the bearings are damaged and oiling them will only silence the squeaks for a month or so.

what year mercedes are you working on ??? I have a 2012 e350. Thanks

Michael Gates says:

Good video, would be even better if you stated the year of your car and if it is a 4Matic or not, though I suspect the blower is the same either way. Also a link to the place where you bought yours would be awesome too.

Did you disconnected the battery or any electronic system to do this? Is it as easy as just unpug?

Dave Galus says:

If you are also changing the cabin air filter there are two silver metal clips on each end of the filter bottom and housing. These will be removed with a screwdriver and discarded.

In the US we have two choices for the Behr blower motor, one cost $300, the other $150. Did you buy the cheaper or more expensive one?

Mike, this video just made my day. I'm driving a W212 Bluetec 4Matic. 174,600 miles. Blower motor started to sound like a blown bearing. Now that I viewed your video my confidence just went strait up. Now, to buy a blower motor. Thanks,
