Great diy as usual. Just wondering if leads are still being supplied with a
built in resistor? My last Bosch set for my 92 Sl didn’t have any markings
on them and they are now listing R plugs for my car. I’m just wondering if
I am now running without any resistors and if that will have a negative
impact in the other direction. Bosch didn’t respond to my email. I presume
the resistance would be printed on the lead or is it in the cap?

Is it possible that the resistor is integrated into the plugs / wires ? So
you would have double resitor which of course would not be good

Awesome sond! Thanks for the tip with the sparkpus, is it the same for a MB
300ce around the late 80’s?

fupabox says:

no..the engine change in 1999 also had different plugs..Platinum and
iridium resistor gap plugs will work on the 1999-2002 cars..there are 2
plugs per cylinder on the sl after 1999

02 sl500 got the same plug?

fupabox says:

yes, almost all Mercedes up until the early 2000 models use non resistor
plugs,, My 97 c230 and the 500sl use the exact same plug as do many
models, which is great because I can order them in bulk..Rockauto has them
for around a dollar fifty ,but they are tough to find elsewhere…your
300ce uses a different one although it is still designed for non-resistor
plugs
