Hey everyone! Have you ever had that burning motor oil smell in your car while you were driving on long trips? If so, then it’s probably because your Mercedes-benz has an old valve cover gasket that needs to be replaced. That’s not a problem because changing the valve cover gasket on the Mercedes-benz s500 M113 engine is super easy. After changing the valve cover gasket and valve vent hoses on your Mercedes-benz valve cover. I would recommend changing your Mercedes-benz valve cover gasket and hoses every 50,000 to 100,000 miles because the rubber can get hard and it makes the job easier if you change your valve cover gasket before the rubber gets hard. Alright, let’s roll up our sleeves and go to work!

When removing the upper breather cover I found it best to use a heat gun makes it a lot easier. Great video production was excellent … Very informative
This was a good video but why didnt you specify what size torx bits you used
Where are you located ?
Very good content gives me more hope in my w220 purchase but I’m also Pretty convinced he’s worked at a MB dealer Before can’t get this much detail from a repair manual
Awesome detailed videos a piece of advice power wash the valve covers with hot water will clean them spotless save a lot of time then the Small Things hand clean them with hot soap water
Excellent at thoroughly explaining and videoing the process.
What size are steel hex bolts you used when you replaced the upper gasket? Where can I get them? Thanks! Great video.
Nice job ,, one tip ,,place a rag over the exhaust manifold before you remove the cover so it doesn't get covered in oil and smoke when you start the engine.
This is like attending a Master Class. You sir are very thorough and concise with your work. Kudos to you. I am planning to do this to my W203 M112 722.6 C 240. Thank you!!!

Is it really necessary to apply some little bit of silicone on the face of the gaskets
I just did the same job yesterday on a 211 E320
Great video, as always. Are you ever going to do a video changing the rear main seal? That's a serious repair and there are no current videos showing how to do it.
Do you have a link for the stainless replacement bolts you used? Thanks so much for the video!
Your videos are very helpful. I have a 2005 S430. I keep it running like showroom. I followed your maf video and the video above. Thanks so much for your work. Tick noise at idle from cyl 3, but only at idle. keeps going as the m113 motors were great motors….
Another excellent video. I just did my valve cover gaskets and this video plus the MAF video were a great help.
Nice videos! I am currently restoring my W123
