Mercedes-Benz | How To Fix Faulty Washer Fluid Warning

How to fix faulty washer fluid warning (Top up washer fluid) for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 and many other models and cars use the same system. Really annoying problem because its only let me use mb genuine washer fluid and they are really expensive for the winter fluid that can withstand minus 25 degrees and only online order.

Think this procedure working really good and its easy to restore for summer when its not showing this kind of warnings because summer fluid got more water. But if you really tired to keep messing with this sensor you could connect the wires and forget about this thing : )

Mercedes WinterFit (part-nr A002986147109) fluid cost about 7€ per liter then I can pour in one liter water in that so about 3,5€ per liter washer fluid that’s about same cost I pay for 4 liter non mb fluid. If that’s been all but got no mb dealer here that’s mean I had to order it online with shipping 20€ each time.

Mercedes SummerFit (Part-nr A001986807117) its another history its 4€ for 40ml concentrate that can be used to 4L water only about 1€ per liter.

In the owners manual it warns that using distilled or deionized water can damage that sensor. Instead of using a float sensor they use 2 prongs…

I have a '15 E350. Any reason not to use a blue scotch lock and connect the two wires near the sensor? I don't ever need a low fluid warning.

My CLS550 2012 have leak from bottom you think I can do the same thing to repair them

Great content for us with the S212. Thanks! It help me allot repairing some things on mine. You don't have any video of the replacing of rear air suspension..? It seams not to be very complicated..but is there a problem when the system is completely empty and you need to get it back to level again?

Great hack! There is also a Finnish brand called Lasol which makes windshield washer fluid which fits perfect about freezing temperatures with MB cars. It costs about a half of the original MB washer fluid. Unfortunately I'm not sure which markets sells Lasol in Sweden, Rusta maybe.

Retrofit ambient lighting ?

Great video! So what you do is fool the computer thinking everything is OK?

Parm Singh says:

Great video as always, thanks for showing the part numbers, taking the time. I use the same fabric tape. Better than electric tape as stops rattles. Used this when I hard wired dash cam. Your very experienced but me being paranoid I would have heat shrinked the wires.

James Parus says:

By finding suitable size resistor to replace the fuse i would think it would work even during winter. Resistor value would probably be high. 47kohms?

Recently bought an 2012 W212 myself. Hopefully I won’t need too many repair tips but keep them coming. Great content.
