Mark Stewart says:

A very informative video; thank you for producing and sharing it. I’ll be
attempting this job soon.

Hi Dextrogen,
I replace the transmission fluid last weekend using the same process you
did in your video and worked very well; The only think I did different was,
I put the hose inside of the black part of the old filter and inserted that
part in the opening of the transmission like you were putting the filter
and worked very well. Now the car shift very well, better then with the
original transmission fluid. Thanks for taking the time to do the video and
answer some of my questions, . Cheers

Hi Dextrogen,
Very different of the videos I watch in Youtube. I was wondering if I can
do this in my C240 2004 gasoline?
As I can tell looking at your video is; you drain the reservoir and then
put in a different container 4 or 5 liters of new transmission fluid feed
direct by a host with no filter wile someone run star the engine until you
see the fluid coming out is clean? and then install the filter, pan and
refill the reservoir with new 3+ liter of the same new transmission fluid.
At the begining you show 4 gallons of fluid. How many gallons do you use?
Please keep this videos coming. Very interesting.
Cheers

Dear Lord.
Excuse the language they use google translator
You let me download this video for my channel and my Spanish?
I’ll take care of editing and eplicar what you are doing in Spanish.
It is a very explanatory video in the operation of oil and filter change on
a automatic atransmisión

I would appreciate response

Miguel Angel Llorente says:

How many mililiters i need to add if my oil is between the two marks of the
max level?. Best Regards

Hugo Guzman says:

what did you use in that galon to flush out the rest?

Hai Anh says:

good thanks

Chimo Salcedo says:

In my opinion, the transmission should never be empty of fluid, there’s a
risk of damage. The official Mercedes procedure states that the flushing is
made through the oil cooler line, once the filter and pan have been
re-installed. Before starting the engine to flush, 5 liters of fresh fluid
have to be added firstly. After pumping out 3 liters, engine must be
stopped. Pour 3 more fresh liters and repeat process. That’s what the
procedure says. It must always be fluid in the system.

todd dimitrov says:

dude your hands are made of rubber , I like the way you try to put the
filter in place .
helpful for some people useless for other ! respect for your effort !

If you ever come across a 2011 VW Tiguan 4Motion 6 Speed Auto (non DSG, or
know where to find a video on YouTube), please do a transmission fluid
flush 🙂 thanks from Canada.

VegetaOnXtaC says:

How many Liters of oil you need for a W209 (270 cdi) automatic transmission
( i think is 722.6)

zech007 says:

You don’t have to do this flushing procedure for the 722.9, because all
722.9 are equipped with a drain plug for the torque converter. As far as
checking the level w/o dipstick Google it, there’s quite a few detailed
documentation about it which explains far better then i can. And please use
correct spec fluid Shell Atf 134.

risc19 says:

No No. I mean I have seen your other flush videos, and knew you would do a
great job.

Dextrogen Elf says:

vorbei, sofern man gründliche Arbeit leisten möchte… .

Yasin Ozcelik says:

Nice tutorial. You look like an organized guy. Subscribed. I own 2005 BMW
X5, 2006 Chrysler 300 and 1999 Opel Astra. Look forward to watching your
upcoming videos. Danke Schon!

Sirghi Vladimir says:

sorry my english i speak french, russian but not english

Dextrogen Elf says:

Sorry, I don’t know. I never serviced the 7G-tronic.

Alexander Neubauer says:

Dextrogen Elf says:

I’m not able to answer the question, bcause I never serviced the 7-speed
automatic transmission. Basically the principle of doing the job should be
the same, but more difficult, like all the newer transmissions without
dipstick (and filling) tube.

Alexander Neubauer says:

Vielen Dank!

Dextrogen Elf says:

No problem. Tube will be vented a short moment after engine has been
started and oil pump is working. By the way: the whole life is a risk.

Dextrogen Elf says:

The engine runs until the fresh transmission fluid is empty (inside the
container with the flushing hose). When it’s empty, turn off the engine by
a helper. The transmission should be flushed until you have pumped 5 (or
more) liters of fluid through the transmission. Shifting is not necesarry.
More important: it’s a risk for the person under the car – always beware of
shifting if some person can be hurted or … . The car should be runned in
‘P’ with park brake applied.

zech007 says:

Woah never seen someone flush that way. On the 722.9, 7 speed G tronic
transmission theirs a drain plug for the torque converter, i assumed that
you flush the transmission to rid of the Torque converter oil and the
cooler.

Firstwaef Lastreawf says:

When performing the additional flush, assistant turned engine on and off
several times… how long was engine allowed to run each time? How many
times should that step be repeated to ensure adequate flush? Was assistant
shifting through gears during that step?

Yasin Ozcelik says:

It is Chrysler 300 Touring, just bought it a week ago and learning how to
break it at home 🙂 Not sure about the type of transmission on X5. Will
check sometime and bug you with questions. Greetings to Germany!

Dextrogen Elf says:

The diameter is 2,5 cm or 0,98 inch. Exactly the same like the fluid filter
connection (on the top).

Thomas Reher says:

very nice to see an alternative option! could you perhaps tell us what
diameter the large tube was? Thank you!

Sirghi Vladimir says:

For the box gears 7G-tronic 722.9… the flushing process is the same? The
722.9… doesn’t have the dipstick, how i must proceed, i know is something
with tempereture

Arturs Bebris says:

I guess there is a height limit the pump can lift the fluid up. How long
was the tube? Also, it seems very strange, that pump could lift the fluid
despite of air being in the tube between the pump and fluid… It must be a
very good pump in these transmissions 🙂

Dextrogen Elf says:

The container is filled with fresh automatic transmission fluid as delivery
for the transmission oil pump, which I use to flush the the transmission
(torque converter, oil cooler, lines…). To do the flush that way, you
have to pay great attention to absolute cleanliness, because the fluid
filter isn’t in place.

Dextrogen Elf says:

We all make mistakes.

risc19 says:

As soon as I saw the word “FLUSH” I hit like before even watching the video
🙂

Dextrogen Elf says:

Thanks. I always try to do my maintenance work as thoroughly as possible.

risc19 says:

I’ve never seen it done via the pick-up at the bottom like that! How come
you didnt go take the return line off and flush that way?

Dextrogen Elf says:

Exactly. Without draining / flushing the torque converter, it’s only half
of the job. So I prefer to flush these transmissions,

Alexander Neubauer says:

Super Anleitung vielen Dank! 1. Haben Sie das neue Öl zur Spühlung
genommen? Wieviel Liter werden zum spühlen ungefähr benötigt? 2. Wieviel Öl
wird ungefähr für den kompletten wechsel benötigt? 3. Muss man sich den
Messstab extra irgendwo besorgen? Ansonsten wirklich super Anleitung!!!
Vielen Dank noch mal!!!
