ok Scotty what years of used Mercedes are the best to buy? I gave up on following them in the early 2000’s.
The companys hq is in Stuttgart but the CLK was produced in Bremen.
Hey Scotty. I had a 2005 mercedes E500 4 matic. Absolutely the best driving ,ridding car iv had ( next to 1974 Cadillac coupe Deville)at least until i took it in to the shop to have tires put on oddly when I picked it up the engine with 63000 miles was making a knocking noise. After questioning and spending another 500$ they say can't find anything. So I take it to reputable MB dealer another 500$ bent rod. Got estimates for repair and replacement then off to a euro sport shop for second opinion no charges but the same diagnosis and estimates. Ended up trading.
Nothing sounds like an AMG V8.
Transmission problem is probably something the mice messed up.

The Mercedes CLK and E classes of that erta are actually really good cars. Especially if you live in Europe you can buy the i4 model of the Mercedes E class W211 model for under €2000 and they go and go and go and plenty of mechanics work on them. I had one but I sold it when I moved from Ireland to the USA and over here I stick to higher trim level Honda Accords because theyre close enough but not a nightmare to maintain like Mercedes are in the USA. Although their is a mom and pop Mercedes specialist Garage near me which is unusual.

I still like Scotty but after I saw a video where he didn't know how to open an access cab door of a Tocoma I question his actual knowledge of vehicles.

I wonder if a Hydraulic Stop Leak formulation of some kind would fix the automatic convertible top. Something similar to the Transmission one you like.

Lol a good CLK 430 costs around 20 grand in Australia (15k USD).
I have a 2009 CLK 550 Cabriolet and it is a BEAST. 5.5L V8. It flies and it is the best and most fun car I’ve ever owned. When you floor it, it literally leaps forward and zooms. There’s something about a V8 Mercedes-Benz that no other car can touch. I only drive it 2 or 3 times a month, on weekends. Hope to keep it forever.
