Battery Terminal 6Nm = 53 in lbs

Same safety tips as the main battery

With ignition off, store the key fob away from the car. At least 7 ft away or 2m

Always check for damage on cable or terminals

When taking the vent tube off be careful, as the battery vapors emitted will damage surrounding components. It’s a good practice to cover it and rout it correctly

Negative is usually black and positive is usually red or check on the battery + or – signs

Never let your tool touch any metal while removing the terminals, could cause spark, damage and/or may even get the tool welded to the terminals, specially if you touch both terminals with the tool

Tuck your terminals out of the way so they don’t bounce back and get in contact with the terminals again

Always start with the negative terminal first

Cover the positive cable so it doesn’t touch any metals

Put the vent back on the battery

Always seat the terminals all the way down. Don’t pound the terminals on, because it can cause internal damage

Always pay attention to torch specs. Some terminals are very fragile

Check on the fabrication dates when you buy it. Month and year. No later than a month built
