W 168 changed the rear springs but the base coil did not reach the indent ?

I heard a loud crack behind my head and now Merc is slightly lopsided – very slightly – ride feels more wobbly too, still drives ok – I’ve bought 2 new rear springs to be fitted this week – hope mechanic doesn’t say its shocks
