I bought a w211 with aftermarket struts. Not airmatic struts. Buy when I go down the ramp to my underground parking structure I hear like what sounds like a compressor starting for about 3 seconds. Then goes off. Did they forget to remove the compressor? What causes the compressor to start?

Lockemeister says:

Thank you for your video. It's very helpful. You did a great job.

Christopher Kotsoglou says:

This is not the way you want to remove this airmatic pump remove the driver side wheel-wheel well -disconnect the air lines -electrical connectors – and finally remove the 3 screws

Adrian Post says:

So if hose has leak it will kill the pump ??

Marc Kelly says:

On a 2003, E500 MB– I'd like to know where is the hose with water/vapor barrier filter (with the upward arrow showing in the this video) is attached to, the end that is closest to the filter? One end leaves the air compressor pump, the other closest to the filter connects to what?? HELP. THX

Steven Weseman says:

I can imagine after years some videos will disappear as experts move on to other careers, etc. But here you have given such helpful information to so many that will be useful 10yrs later still as someone is nursing or rehabing a W211. I wanted to offer a special thanks for the effort to take off the front bumper just to make the demonstration so much better; that was a lot of extra work for the benefit of viewers – such a gesture of good will. I am responding to a 5350 fault – A9 1y1; DAS throws a further communication error when trying to release pressure in any of the struts. My add here is that from a flying off truck debris near accident our E500 had the undershield and fender liner ripped out. I waited too long to put new (inexpensive) covers back on. In northern climates just a day or two of driving turns the entire compressor assembly into a "crystal palace" of road salt. Of course, the assembly did just fine but it is taking direct hits of water and road salt from the front wheel. My point is that recovering is perhaps more of a near urgent matter. In particular, at least one of the air lines is just 3 or 4 centimeters from the wheel. Finally, it passed through a dealer oil change type service and the technicians didn't even flag the underbody and fender covers . . . Again, thank you for the nice video.

Jonathan M says:

Any ideas why my airmatic system pressure is at 0 bar but the car is up and the compressor runs?
I had leak– or a code for it anyway — and the pressure wouldn't go above 2.2 bar and the compressor would shut down after 10 seconds of engaging. Took everything apart, didn't see any obvious leaks, put it back togethe. car is up now, no errors, but the system reads 0 bar for airmatic pressure.

Robert_murphy916 says:

Does it take any reprogramming from a dealership or shop to replace it or can you just put the new one in?

Herson Castro-Guzman says:

What is is connected to ?

steven Kaibintech says:

surper video!

Kobexd says:

I have a problem with the airmatic suspension, a hose is not plugged in and I’m not sure where it plugs in could someone help

Štěpán Mráz says:

GEO GEO says:

Julian Oliger says:

Is there a way to manually pump air into the airbags?

Andrei Saraianu says:

Где находится реле свечей накала мерседеса w211 220cdi 2007 125kw 170ps?

Ante Susic says:

Where does the top hose of airmatic air filter go to? I was missing mine when I got the car and I can see that the bottom one goes to the compressor, but where does the top one go? The airmatic air filter is the thing on the right side of the compressor from the view in this video.

100ega says:

hello, I have a question which is, and where is located the airmatic pressure valve.?
have a code for the airmatic pressure valve circuit.

S.M says:

Hello, I have Mercedes E class w211 combi 2005 and I have just installed new Arnott Air Compressor and new rear Arnott Air Suspension.

Now I have a one question as to whether the compressor should work from time to time while driving or should only work once after switching on the car?

The compressor runs in my car from time to time while driving and I'm afraid that there is a air leak somewhere.

Thank you in advance.

Rod Ruiztagle says:

I have the front passenger suspension down. At first I thought the strut was bad. Could this be the pump instead? Does anyone know if the pump malfunctioning could cause only one strut to lower?

Kofi says:

you dont have to remove the bumper
