Hello, I have 2012 R350 3.5l 4matic
Engine code 276958 30 043175.
Will this fix work,, timing chain rattle at start up cold and hot once it has rested a bit. Thank you so much in advance.

Elijah U. Madu says:

The rattling noise I hear from my E200 Mercedes Benz car engine is from where the silencer (exhaust pipe) connects to the engine. It happens only what I start the car in the morning; when the engine is cold. Please, is this a fault or what am I supposed to do to stop it?

Franks101 Learning By Trial and Error says:

I got a Chevy Cruze and mine is doing the same thing maybe this is the problem I have checked everything changed everything except for anything in Timing System

Robert Smith says:

They skipped over how to get the items they removed taken out and what they put the towel over besides just saying the name of what was covered.

David Kvirikadze says:

thinking on doing it myself on m278, only thing im concerned ( never done) is aligning cam shaft to specific position, is it really required or can i just remove tensioner ? also if anyone knows where to get press tool please post here, thanks !!!

Hello there good evening I just watched your video would that issue throw a check engine light as well Because I am having rattling issues when I'm cranking the car and also the car takes about 5 seconds to crank.

Steve Bez says:

I seem to have this issue on my M113K motor … any resolution for this engine?

Fam8 says:

I had this issue – From MB:

Just a report on work carried out on your car. We replaced the timing chain tensioners and oil check valves for cam shaft adjuster to cure the engine noise on start up. There are two secondary timing chain tensioners on the engine and one main. The issue was with the secondary tensioners and both of these have been replaced.

Carried out recall srpc1827. (We have had to persevere with complaints over four years there was certainly no recall)

If you have any m157 engine bi turbo AMG 63 model between 2012 and early 2015 I suggest you get this checked out. Very annoying we've been complaining about this noise from day 1 only to be told they all have a rattle on start up. I'm now being told there is no chance this can cause damage but I disagree there is every chance the head, valves, pistons and timing chain itself can be damaged if left long enough to own devices without being fixed as by the timing chain not being fully tensioned on start the engine is essentially out of sync for a few seconds on start up. Will keep this car under warranty for as long as possible. No other way.
