You can still find good used replacement fuel tanks in wrecking yards.
Forget about a new one. From time to time we have good fuel tanks listed on
our website for reasonable prices.

speedy75602 says:

been there and done that about a year ago, tank had algae buildup so I took
the tank out and pressure washed everything out of it squeaky clean then
put alcohol in to dissipate all the water, let set in hot sun for a day to
be sure it was dry put some clean diesel in and sloshed it around emptied
and reinstalled and has been fine since, still a video on the correct way
to remove would be nice just in case I ever have to do it again

“Happy as a clam at high tide” is how the old saying goes. At low tide they
tend toward a depressive emotional state. It ain’t easy being a bivalve.

Tugboatpb says:

If you were to make the video, could you also show how to properly remove
and repair the fuel gauge sensor? Thank you for your videos, they have
always been very helpful.

sisyphusofmorons says:

Does anyone know how much a replacement tank costs? And where you could
find one?

Kevin Davenport says:

I would LOVE to see a video about how to remove the fuel tank! I am
interested in turning the trunk of my 300 sdl into a WVO processing plant,
so i can use all the room i can get.

open clams look like they are smiling. 🙂

blinkfan305 says:

Definitely make the video on fuel tank removal. Lots of people are having a
power loss issue and this has to be a key component to fixing it.

Dale Race says:

I would love to see a video about removing the fuel tank

bill averbach says:

Bravo! This problem seems to be common on the old cars. How can the tank be
flushed & with what would one flush it?

Lester Jones says:

Hi, I own a 1977 300D diesel and having the same problem Would kindly
appreciate it if you could do a video on how to take it out. Thanks a lot

I would love seeing a tank cleaning as well.

smithraymond09029 says:

Neglect is the #1 killer of automobiles, Mercedes or otherwise. I like your
approach sir: look at the basics (first, fluids, filters, etc.) then dive
into the obscure possibilities. 9 times out of 10 it is something basic.

frenor0302 says:

I’m wi Dale, would love to see a video about removing the tank!

TheAMG39 says:

Yes, do the video please 🙂

Andrew Zimmer says:

I have ’88 300SEL that sometimes loses power under acceleration. Could this
be my issue as well?

Dan Rosenberg says:

I would love to see that video and will check to see if you already made
it! thanks for the great videos!

Antony Van Couvering says:

Kent – the expression in full is “happy as a clam at high tide.” As you
probably know, clams burrow in the sand at low tide and aren’t doing much
eating. At high tide, they can feed. So that’s where the expression comes
from.

Kenneth Lane says:

I’d love to see a fuel tank removal video!

benzrider85 says:

A Fuel tank replacement video is an excellent idea! It would be worth
