450SEL owner here, so did the minwax give you that thick shiny surface
coating similar to the factory finish?

looks good as far as i could see. 😉 i had that lower panel in wood from a
scrapped w123 200 but i had to get back the original black cus the little
peg at the back was broken off the wood one. keep em comming! 😉

The stain looks like a near perfect match for color. When it was dry, about
a day after this video, I shot it with a coating of Minwax’s “Helmsman Spar
Urethane”. I laid it on thick, but dry, it’s much thinner. I had to wait at
least 72 hours before recoat, so I may very well spray some more and layer
it up.
