Here is a quick and simple video on how to replace the dead / weak battery in your Mazda key fob. If your fob looks like this one, regardless of model, this same process will work. The first thing you need to do is to slide the mechanical key out. Do this by sliding the latch on the back over and pull the key straight out. Next, take the small screwdriver and insert it into the case as I’ve shown. You can then gently work your way around the sides. Once you have done that, you will hear a “pop” and then you can separate the two halves. Remove the battery cover to gain access to your battery. Replace the dead coin cell battery and place the new one in + side facing upward. But the battery cap back on and clip it all back together. That is all! Hope you found the video helpful.
