Mazda 3 side mirror replacement (2014-2016)

Mazda 3 side mirror replacement (2014-2016)

This is a fast-paced tutorial for replacing (removing and installing) the side mirror assembly (a.k.a. door mirror, wing mirror) on a 2014 Mazda 3. This video should be applicable to Mazda 3’s from model years 2014, 2015, and 2016 and it might even work for 2017 and 2018. This video will also be useful if you need to remove the door panel of your Mazda 3.

This Mazda 3 is equipped with blind spot monitoring. When the mirror glass was removed it triggered the BMS (Blind Spot Monitoring) warning light on the dash.

The mirror assembly I install in this video is an aftermarket replacement made by “Kool Vue” part # BJD669181E.

The tools I use in this video are (In the order they appear): A curved pick tool, #2 Phillips screwdriver, Flat-blade screwdriver, Electric impact driver, 10mm socket, a standard coat hanger, and electricians tape.

I ordered the wrong mirror for my Mazda 3! The one I ordered is for a Mazda 6, both are 2014 model, so my question is I wonder if it can still fit? it looks identical to me. The part will arrive in a week.

I own a 2016 mazda 3 & I want to replace the small bulbs on the farthest left & right side of the front headlight system. So basically you have the high beam, low beam & then you have this small bulb at the very edge of the housing that is amber in color & How do you remove It so that I can Install this very cool LED light system that I have?…….thanks

Justin Southard says:

Hey do you know where i can find just the black plastic part below the mirror cap?? I've looked and only can seem to find the large (usually color coded) mirror cap.

That music though

Daniel Lee says:

This helped a lot thank you! However now my BSM light is blinking? Any chance you ran into this issue before? Was working fine when I tested it but this morning went off.

Stevie Pierce says:

Can I just buy a Mazda 3 mirror without the blindspot detection? Those things are way more expensive. Unless somebody knows where I can get one for like 60 bucks.

Rogue Covert says:

You don't want to use a screwdriver on the door frame, as you can see it'll remove the paint. The doors aren't water proof at all and will rust without the paint to protect it. Plastic pry tools are better. If you have to use a screwdriver, wrap it with some kind of tape.

Stas Dadonkin says:

Thanks! Saved me $120! 😀

Sarah Burns says:

I have a 2018.. and am going to try this here shortly.

I have a new mirror, housing, and colour match piece… and am able to salvage the piece with the signal attached.

I'm assuming I should be assembling the mirror prior to vehicle attachment??

Thank you!

You really threw me a curve on this. I wasn't expecting a mirror replacement video to be set to "Lulu's Back in Town."
