Thanks Brian! Your video helped me a lot. For me the hardest thing was installing the lock cylinder and getting it to stay in position while trying to bolt it back into position. For anyone doing this, make sure you get the OEM part. I bought a cheap $13 handle off eBay and it was pure garbage. Believe me, you don't want to go to all this work and have the part fail again. I ended up going OEM.

This was just what I needed to help me replace the driver's door handle on my Mazda5. Thank you for providing such thorough instructions, clear voice over, and great camera work! 🙂

Mark Roberson says:

Brian – Thanks for the video, but my 2007 CX-7 door is stuck closed and won't open. It's acting like it's locked as turning the key from the outside to unlock or pressing the unlock button inside does nothing to unlock the door (the other doors unlock fine). Pulling the outside or inside door handles do nothing either to open the door. I've removed the first two Phillips screws as in the video, but can't remove the door panel like the video shows because the door is closed and the panel is "secured" in the door frame. Is there anyway to get the door open so I can change out the broken part?

Nery Burgos says:

Omg all of this for a door handle!!!

Martin Mendes says:

Thanks for this tutorial. Was very helpful as I changed a broken handle on my Mazda 3. Thank you.

Mr. Mazda says:

This is one of those repair jobs that on the face of it seems fairly straightforward but becomes a real chore for the untrained DIY person. Thanks for sharing – great video!
