Will a worn out link be the cause of clanking noise which I thought was my newly installed rear springs? Shocks are new but we’re under stress with the old cut coils

Kristupas Antanavicius says:

You have to make sure you get the correct size allen bit. If the nut is rusty, the correct size won't go in. You need to use a smaller size bit to clean out the hole, without applying torque. Then the correct size bit will go in and the nut shouldn't strip out.

Always helpful videos. good guidance although not the same year. Mine is 2012 Mazda 6. Mine also broke off and had to cut bolt. It was a work out. Thanks

Watched this video like 20 times. Got all the tools I needed for this fix.* Got the parts from 1A Auto. Jacked up my 04 Mazda6. Got to the top link nut, fighting with my strut spring for the tiniest amount space. Nut was rusted and bound as holy hell, even after hours soaked in pb blaster.

*Didn’t have an air chisel.

Gave up. Took a cold shower. Thanks for the exact walkthrough I was looking for, 1A. Idk why I expected anything different on a 15yr old car ¯_(ツ)_/¯
