How to Repair a Quarter Panel | 1973 Mazda Project Car Ep 5

Still pinching myself that this has happened. Really could not stand looking at that old rear quarter, but was also not going to invest $2500 into a new one. Very happy with how its turned out, but there is still so much work here to do! Only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time….

It’s looking much better now, nice work

James McCarthy says:

I am with you, I am not a professional but like having a go myself that and I don’t have the money to pay for skilled labor. I just really want to get out and have a car that I built the way that I want it.

jase drifter says:

good stuff broomy, i miss the good old days of going to rotary meets. u in your white rx4/929 coupe. me in my s3 rx7 ( JASRX)

Ryan Workman says:

That looks so much better with the good doors and quarter in place.
With all the work you've done so far, it's surely starting to look like the project car you want to work on instead of the one you don't know where to start with.

Boogaloo Shrymp says:

Thats miles better now! Top effort there Gee!

Messiahmoin says:

Good job brother you do you

vassav says:

You should cut the rear Indercator/reflector out of the wrecker car and weld it into your passanger guard.

Deanoz Direct says:

Great video love the content just a suggestion you might already know about. I bought the bailey channel for the Windows and all of the bumper bar rubbers and and all of the door and boot rubber kit's from Phill's rotary in qld

If you're after a greentop Barra engine, doesn't Scotty from Street Machine have 2 or 3 of them lying around their workshop?

Andrew James says:

Great score with the quarter Broomy, you mentioned Aaron Hogan he has helped me and alot of other Mazda & Rotary nuts out there, is a true car enthusiast.

Rob Begic says:

Awesome update… looks a million times better to quote you – totally agree.
I think Aaron has hooked up at least most of the car community in Melbourne with something or other over the years, picked up a few xe/f parts from him back in the day.

HEKTIC458 says:

Looking great!

deankdx says:

Looks mint! nice job with the gaps also. Aaron is a top bloke, he's helped heaps of people over the years! I'm surprised anything older than 1990 is even in the wreckers these days.

Beavis says:

She's coming along great,
Didnt the wrecker's car have a decent rear valance?

Martin McMartin says:

No point in making it super expensive with OEM or NOS parts if it's getting a wheel barra in it instead of a chook cooker.

Brucey Blowback says:

Looks great, it's only steel mate don't be scared, best thing playing with steel its easily modified.

Aaron HOGAN says:

Thanks Paul! Glad to help mate. May there be more kisses on the dick from the Mazda gods coming your way.
