Could also be a failed water pump… had that problem in my old A4. That
was an adventure to fix!

Glenn Ferris says:

I have a 98 Pontiac grand Prix.I been losing antifreeze and don’t know how
or where its been going. I take my oil fill cap off when the car is hot and
I notice some steam building up inside the cap.does this mean my heads are
warped or my gaskets are leaking?..please help me Scotty

niome Ruiz says:

Josh Adams says:

Hey Scotty, I’m curious is there a good way to fix a leaky radiator, or is
my best bet just to replace the whole radiator?

temperature i dont. know. whats the problem

Disposable0303 says:

Its been over a year since I used only distilled water as coolant and last
time I flushed the water was rusty. Can I return to using coolant,
specifically the new extended life coolants with red or orange color? Will
going back to using coolant result in clogged up radiator?

GZUZHANDLES says:

Hello Scotty, I have a 1996 Eagle Talon 2.0 non-turbo. Every time I go on
the freeway for more than 20 minutes my car starts to overheat. I noticed
my coolant reservoir starts to boil and it evaporates from another line. I
have a new radiator, fans are properly working. Any help? Thank you.

Michael Byrnes says:

What about a water pump?

Jasnop Vtec says:

Where do u buy on of the pressure tubes to check leeks??

concessions2121 says:

hey scotty I have an 2001 Ford Escape. My question is, since the radiator
does not have a radiator cap. It only has a cap in the reservoir. does the
reservoir has pressure because water started to come out. I replace the
thermostat. but it feels like its a little shaky. what could it be??

Sergio Garcia says:

Hey how are you? I have a 2001 Honda Accord Sedan, and it is overheating.
It over heats many times and when i turn my AC on it goes from Hot to the
middle of Hot and Cold, so most of the time i drive with my AC on for my
car wont overheat. What should i do ?

melomen27 says:

Hey Scottie, recently bought a 98′ civic neither fans for ac or radiator
work, should i jump right to the motors for them or could it be the relay
or switches ? Thanks again!

Dalton Chattic says:

How’s it going?? I’m having troubles with my 97 Eagle Talon it continues to
overheat I’ve put a new water pump in the car and still it overheats so
what I did is took the thermostat out of the engine I left the lid open and
turned on the car there is no fluid coming from the engine to the radiator
the radiators full but still my engine overheats if what I’m saying does
not make sense please respond and I’ll make a short video to show you

Vicki Hawkes says:

ok, so here is a question. I tried all the things you said checking for
why my 95 camry overheats. It is fine when driving, but as soon as I stop,
the overflow tanks blows and spews. I got the thermostat out yesterday and
it was clogged, so I have a new one. I ran a flush this morning without
the thermostat in the car, and the overflow bubbled over and blew out fluid
10 minutes of running the flush, basically as soon as I turned on the heat,
which really didn’t heat because there wasn’t a thermostat back in. So, my
thought? One, when the car initially overheated while I was flushing last
week with a clogged thermostat it actually got so hot it melted the
radiator cap and the pieces came off the cap, so when it cooled I pulled
them out of the radiator intake hole-now however, it also burned the small
rubber seal right inside the radiator intake and I am curious if that may
be an issue? The ridge is there, but it is charred-and without the lip
that the rubber piece created. I cleaned it off real well, and the cap
seems to seal fine, however???? I bought one this time with a pressure
release valve. I am letting the car cool, and am going to put the
thermostat back in after I run water threw the system with the drain plug
out of the radiator to make sure no crap is in the system. I did this last
week for about an hour, with the thermostat in, and there was some rust
pieces, like gold mining, so it made me thing the radiator was clogged?
The radiator was brand new prior to the overheating. I fear a head gasket,
but thought maybe the cap just can’t hold the pressure accurate. It only
spews from the overflow tank, not the cap area?
I started with a car chugging, stahling when it felt like, and not starting
back up-then it just quit doing that after the radiator flush? I am
confused…but, am curious about your thoughts about the radiator cap inner
rubber piece-maybe replace the radiator again? Thanks.

Vicki

I fucking love your videos Scotty! If someday I have the pleasure to meet
you, I’ll make sure to give you the firmest of handshakes and invite you
for a beer afterwards. I’m so happy right now I could kiss you. *full homo*

A Hayes says:

Scotty you are the best, i wish you wealth and good health.

Ethan Robles says:

Hey scotty i have a question i have gm buick and its overheating and i know
what the issue is , its leaking the radiator fluid but im not sure were and
how to get it fixed

Its so bad i can put some in and not even a mile and its almost all gone,
is that just a hose or could it be worse?

GRAVEMIIND says:

I have an issue with my car. When I apply the brakes they usually make a
squeaking sound. The brakes work fine but the sound is rather annoying. A
lot of brake work was done about 5000 miles ago.

carlos de la rosa says:

Hey Scotty I got a 1997 mercury cougar whenever I have the ac running it
runs cool but when I turn it off the needle goes up and the fan comes on
pretty late and shuts off without cooling it down what could cause this?

keltni ramirez says:

Scotty i have a question. Its not related to this video. I drive a cadillac
srx and when im driving at a slow speed for example in a parking lot ready
to park. I hear a creaking noise when making a turn at a slow speed. If i
do sharp turns at higher speeds i do not hear the noise. What can it be
before i decide to take an approach.

Pedro Martinex says:

Every time i drive my car the temperature is to bars before the half bar on
the the temp needle everytime i make a stop or park my car it raises up and
overheats can you help scotty kilmer

TehCapri says:

My integra overheats when I’m sitting on a red light for a while, but when
I drive it goes back to normal. What do I do?

Eagleoneradiogod says:

Also any car with over 90,000 miles on it is guarnteed to have clogged up
catalic converters witch shoves hot exaust gasses back into the engine
witch will cause a head or both the block to crack in multiple places. In
another words now you need a new exaust systen plus a new motor. Putting a
new engine in with an old exaust system will ruin the new engine. Clogged
cats are also the reason for o2 sensor codes beacuse of the carbon and
unburned fuel deposits not being able to get past the clogged cats will
make the o2 sensors go bad immeatiatley .

joseph savio says:

the rpm increases when i hit the clutch while shifting . would it be of the
cable that connects the accelerator paddle to the throttle body

SuperAwesomeGuy says:

Hey Scotty quick question 2001 Honda Odyssey when I idle the temp a few min
as I start shoots up to a little bit outa the red But I put it in drive and
puts it back to normal levels… I’m loosing Coolant somehow but no
telling where. Gets a bit hot under the hood but has never overheated fully
,ac on and Idling ,can you tell me what might be causing that.

On another note how do you feel about Odysseys despite the tranny problems
(replaced 3 times newest customized by a friend to) I have over 200,000mi
on and it’s never left me stranded besides the tranny and a bad alternator.

Much thanks Scotty and hope you can get back to me

Steve Vincent says:

Great video – I like your style. Hey, my 1994 Dodge Ram B250 van only
overheats when driving up a steep hill on a warm day – like whenever I
drive up to Yosemite or up to Lake Tahoe. The temp gauge will go up to
3/4 and higher. It’s fine at freeway speeds or at idle in traffic. No
leaks in the system, and I put in a new radiator cap. I turn the AC off
on the uphill, but it still seems to get too hot. Why can’t it keep its
cool on the uphill? There are no electric fans on this vehicle.

justin hebert says:

Hi scotty hope you can help cause im at a loss.. 96 hyundai accent getting
hot or the gauge playing games seems read right after fixing sensor an
rewire fan, tested thermostat did a hc block test twice so ive eliminated
all of known factors except water pump but isnt making noise acts as if
theres no issue except the gauge reading hot an after testing turn ignition
off motor seems to want to keep running than dies as if it stalled if this
is a ”diesiling issue” or part of my overheating radiator looks clean
fresh no leaks im down possible clogging issues but im without a clue
everything passed the tests but still hot?

Tom Sevin says:

I have a 1997 sebring jxi that is overheating . passed a pressure test
twice the overflow keeps filling up . no leaks no milky look to rad cap/oil
cap or oil.what could cause this fan is working

Kidd Defiant says:

I just changed my old radiator since it was leaking just a bit. Never gave
me an overheating problem. I just put on the new one within an hour ago and
I test drove it. Now it’s bypassing the midline on the gauge. I pop the
hood and there’s two strange bumps. The radiator itself gets really hot
now. I can feel it. What’s the problem?

joseph savio says:

gasoline is leaking out through the throttle body what to do !!!

Javier Garza Jr says:

I have a question. My 2005 Jeep Liberty V6 is overheating. I noticed when i
tested low and high speed on radiator fan that the speeds are the same
which is very low. I s that likely the problem?

Jeremy Palmquist says:

Hi, great video, what about the CTS sesnor or the ETC switch on a toyota?
My car’s fans turn on with the a/c but not when it gets hot.

Pablo Ruiz says:

Hey what happens if I take the ac condenser so that the radiator can get
more air on the high way cause it gets really hot going 70 miles a hour

Zakir Sajib says:

while driving i stuck with big hole on road and my music system got
interrupted for a few seconds and it resumes again. So should i check
something?

the doge says:

Thank you for what you do.

Steve W says:

im no mechanic but I think ya forgot to cover the water pump

ronron291 says:

what about a temp switch

1qwasz12 says:

I have a 2002 Galant. I’ve tried every thing in this video. It’s still runs
extremely hot. The coolant overflow boils even when idling. Would a water
pump leak be visible on the ground beneath car?

Shah Ho Nam says:

good education

thanks
