DIY Install Aux Cord NC Mazda Miata MX-5 (Plus Bluetooth)

Don’t spend $150 on some Best Buy BS. No more burn CDs and shitty radio!
(Sorry for Potato quality)
Buy an aux plug, plus an USB bluetooth connection.
Remove plastic sides.
Unscrew 4 screws.
Plug it in the back.
Wire the cord wherever you want it.
Plug it in the bluetooth.
Connect and enjoy.

Oliver Jullien says:

Hi mate, could you share the link for the aux cable please?

Slingerland says:

I thank you very much for this infomative video! Great thanks!

Jalen Dangerfield says:

What’s the Bluetooth thing called ?

Joe says:

Removed all 4 retainer screws and the side pieces of plastic… can't for the life of me pop out the audio unit its proper stuck in there

Count Von D says:

Bada Bing! Did it. Having sons with smaller hands helps. I did a female end on my Ebay cable ($5.99). Already had one of the $9 Blackweb (walmart) Bluetooth receivers. Hit the media button and for the first time ever "Aux" showed up. Infinitely better sound than trying to broadcast over some sketchy radio channel. About $15 total investment. Nice and clean. I noticed my BT receiver has a mic. Gonna try a hands-free call tomorrow.

You the man b.

Joey Toews says:

What about the 10mm bolt? Was yours already removed, or are they only on certain year/trim/stereos?

Garrett Giuffre says:

Someone on YouTube with intelligence. Thank you

peacefrog0521 says:

I saw some of the reviews saying a ground loop isolator was needed (or recommended) to filter out extraneous RF noise. Has that been your experience? Thx

C C says:

Short and straight to the point. This is the type of DIY videos I like.

Derreck says:

I got the "bada bing" part, but he forgot to mention there's a 10mm bolt holding the stereo on the drivers side footwell…

Don John says:

does this work on an 06 ?

Eric Abercrombie says:

He said "slit."

Jesse Saul says:

Thanks for the video! Any idea if something like this on Amazon would work with a 2009 NC Miata factory stereo to get a USB and mini plug?

https://www.amazon.com/Wyness-Interface-2003-2011-1999-2003-2003-2008/dp/B01LRP8IBY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1484099711&sr=8-5&keywords=miata+aux+cable

Description is a bit fishy with Miata and MX-5 showing different year ranges. This wire would be nice to hide in the glove box, rather than leaving it by the power plug beneath the radio… Presumably would be fine for the bluetooth or iPod via USB?

Peter Salls says:

I just got an nc and want to install a Sirius radio. the one I have comes with an aux cord. where exactly does it plug into the back?

Mr Mike says:

Dude you're awesome. Every DIY video I've ever seen has 2/3rds of the video being a summary of what's in the description… Also, thanks for the help!

No Ko says:

can you link a parts list?

Ana Villegas says:

I am was gonna do it myself but your video held out a lot. Can you tell me how's the quality of sound?

Kirill Sotnikov says:

Could you say which connector is used for connect to stereo? Is it standard thing?

JAY says:

you just saves me from buying that other crap for my nc thanks.

Jeffrey Cormier says:

where did you get the aux cable from?

Nick Carmona says:

"bada bing" just like that
