That's a good question for someone that plays lots of Video Games and is a Car Collector in Grand Theft Auto 5. Personally My Favorite Car to 'Drive' would have to be my Salmon Pink "Voodoo Custom" or better known as a 1964 Chevrolet Impala. Second Favorite is my Plum Purple "Dukes" better known as the 1969 Dodge Charger.

A lot of the Lotus mechanicals are in fact from other large manufacturers. Toyota, GM, Vauxhall, Opel, Renault, Citroen and Fiat parts were used. While maybe not common in the US, they were used on cars that had substantial build numbers and shouldn't be that difficult to source, even if it is through a European company.

One of my favorite things about the Esprit os the use of Toyota Corolla taillights. Kinda like how Lamborghini used 300ZX headlights on the Diablo.

I bought a 3 yr old non turbo targa Esprit with 23k from an auction here in the UK years ago , when I got it home I checked the oil and shock horror water in the oil ! luckily a mate of mine was a top mechanic and stripped the motor and found the paper gaskets at the bottom of the liners were leaking and fixed it and only charged me about £300 plus gaskets and a new cam belt , went well after that with no problems and I sold it for a profit .

AHahah still have a AMIGA A500 and played Lotus 2 for years… Still want a Esprit if i had money… Love it… The Renault Gearbox is the biggest problem

I have a 1994 S4 Esprit and love it. Had it 5yrs and only problem is the AC not blowing cold.

At one of our son's graduation ceremonies, there was a bright red, immaculate looking 2004 Esprit in the parking lot, with the crazy spoiler. I gushed over that car, but all my wife could say was, "eww, that thing is ugly!". I seriously considered a divorce that day.

Take a Camry V6 engine and transmission out of an old Camry, and stick it in place of the engine in the Lotus Esprit. Then you've got a Lotus Evora.
