tubeengineer says:

The lotus is more exclusive too, I see at least 5 caymans a day – only ever
seen one evora

WeekendGamingNerds says:

I feel like a better driver could have brought the Lotus out on top.

Calde Ailis says:

Exige V6 is a lot faster than both.

ewt415 says:

How awfully hurt do you Lotus fanboys have to be to say the Cayman should
be compared to the Lotus Exige S? The Exige is just about the more hardcore
track car Lotus makes. The Evora S and the Cayman S is about as perfect of
a match up as you can get between Porsche and Lotus.

Marshall Street says:

When Lotus created the Evora, I always wondered why they didn’t put the
Lotus 3.5 liter twin turbo “Type 918” V8 in it from the old
Esprit(1997-2004). They could have inserted the Type 918 engine in the car
and declared it the new Esprit.

antiHUMANDesigns says:

The lotus is cooler, though. That’s worth something.

mieguistumas says:

I think the main problem is that lotus costs too much. If it was cheaper
than cayman, we would accept the result, that it is slower, quality isn’t
as good. There are some very likeable things on lotus, but not for that
price.

Harry Field says:

Wish he could stop being so modest to the Porsche. Videos where he fanboys
the cayman :(

Battle Armor says:

The fact is the Cayman is easy to drive fast. Time and time again,
challenge after challenge the Cayman is the car to beat. If Porsche put
more HP into the Cayman it would slay the competition.

Cartel893 says:

6:03 Why the hell is he on hard braking point first shifting in 1st(?) then
in 4th gear?

or does it just look like?

Christopher Krueger says:

How is comparing a 2+2 GT (Evora) vs a 2 seater sports car an apples to
apples comparison? The Lotus Exige V6 is the TRUE competitor to the Caman
S and will BLOW IT’S DOORS OFF. [Oops – is my Lotus owner’s bias showing
just a little bit? 😉 ]

jacob massey says:

How are people saying that Britain doesn’t make good cars?! There is a
reason that Lotus, McLaren, Bentley, Land Rover, Jaguar, Range Rover and
Mini along with all the other companies are known and bought worldwide.
British cars are known for being well made and reliable (Except the TVR
obviously) and its other countries i.e. America that produce the shit that
stinks in one place, you wont see many dodge’s over in Europe and there is
a reason for it.

Trey Matthews says:

Lotus are better then Porsche

Marco Bernarda says:

I like the Lotus! Is a better drivers car but has 2 major weeknesses:
Is too heavy(1400/1500kg) and the Toyota engine is very underachiving.
Lotus must take 100/150kg from the car and do a better job with that
engine.
Toyota has V6 2GR-FSE rated at 314hp and 280 ft/lb of torque in natural
aspirated form.
With this numbers Lotus doesn’t need a supercharged engine(the supercharged
form does not deliver a good performance either in my opiniona turbocharger
would make a lot better) to compete with Cayman or Boxster
Lotus Evora with 1300kg with 314hp 280ft/lb of torque would be blast.
Its bad for Lotus not fullfill Evora true potencial.

Kristian Turner-Radford says:

The difference in lap time would be a lot more even if the cayman had a
manual aswell!

gtv54 says:

I love the Lotus Evora!

Colt Hinchman says:

The 0-60 time for the Porsche was inaccurate.

S D'Mello says:

Nothing like the Porsche… drive it and you will want to own it… I luv
my car

Paul Baumgartel says:

+TheNightman777 That looks like a pre-2014 Cayman S, which has 320 bhp.

Wingman says:

The standard Cayman (with stick, no PDK) had a lap time of 01:12:70.

I think the Cayman S might be a little bit faster because it’s lighter but
the real difference is the PDK vs the manual transmission.

gremmann says:

The time difference of 0.7 seconds can be more than attributed to the
manual shift in the Lotus. Give me a proper manual anytime. The lap speed
is not that much different. If the Porsche had a manual shift, the Lotus
would have been faster by more than a mere 0.7 seconds.
Besides, all Porsche’s look the same and have for centuries. It’s dated!!
(see what I did there? centuries….HA)

Lotus M-100 says:

I agree w WeekendGamingNerds; the stick gaffe at 6:04 and breakaway at 6:21
shows the driver’s inexperience with the Evora; an experienced driver
should have made up the difference in time. As a multiple Lotus owner,
I’ll admit the Cayman is probably more comfy as a daily driver, but my
money’s in the Evora every time around. And twice on track day.

gandalfheng says:

Before I forget. British cars are about as reliable as an Indian Tata bus.
If you like your cars spending 90% of their time in the workshop by all
means buy a British car. Otherwise I never touch Land Rover, Range Rover,
Lotus. All crap cars made in crappy Britain.

gandalfheng says:

Lotus is typical British crap car. Sorry, but the Brits just don’t know how
to make good cars at all.

gandalfheng says:

The Brits are good at making sandwiches. That’s all they know how to do.
Plus being shopkeepers. Lotus? Don’t make me laugh.

zsofia oreg says:

i prefer the lotus

anthony9325 says:

He’s comparing apples and oranges, the Evora is a manual, the Boxster a
paddle-shift, so the time difference is irrelevant. To drive, the Evora is
leagues above the Boxtser – steering, brakes, handling, ride. I test drove
both for a whole weekend and there was no question for me that the Lotus
was better.

amir jasni says:

the best lotus

lotus exige says:

LOTUS LOTUS LOTUS… EVER!!!

Igor kotzlowski says:

Maybe the Evora is cooler, sexier and more exclusive.
Nevertheless the Cayman is the faster and much better car.

Joseph Robinson says:

I’ll take the evora

doobie88 says:

Love the exotic look of the Evora.

justin bouche says:

lotus looks better sounds better to.

CaymanSKRD says:

and the evora s has 350hp but it weights 1450kg, the cayman r weights 1275
(manual one) so a evora s is 175 kg more. and I thought lotus was all about
lightness 🙁

TECMANPRO11 says:

Porsche cars look like Das Auto beetles, which is not a good thing.

Ottaro Chabo says:

4.7 manual, 4.6 PDK, 4.4 PDK sport plus mode, actually.

MCPlayerAD says:

I like how the lotus looks but I like all the tech and interior in Porsche
, Who

Imran Mohammed says:

0:56 dat noise

MrAntho337 says:

I bought the Cayman S, and i love my car !

CodyOsburn says:

And everything on wikipedia is always accurate.

onehorsepower says:

So how many races have you won? When pushed hard, the Evora moves around
more, can be seen in any road test.

noodlebike says:

Exactly what I thought! Ridiculous comparison.

wakkadakkaify says:

cayman every time!!!!!
