What should be a simple install took just a bit longer. Not really a hard process and really was done in less than an hour. These were the oem struts that finally wore out and it was time for a replacement set.

Dude, they are supposed to be different size, My Esprit has it the same way, one of the struts is free while the other one locks the bonet in place.
They gave you the wrong size struts. Sorry guys.
can you provide the strut part in advanced auto parts?
if the car was running a little before the oil was check, it means that your reading is wrong on the dip stick. the car needs to be stopped for several minutes before checking, other than rhat there might still be some oil les on he upper portion of the engine and some spill on the dip stick.
