Just a quick video showing how you can repair aluminum with carbon fiber. I have made many repairs like this and none have failed me. I recorded this almost a year ago and still using the same pedals without issues. This process is basically the same when repairing carbon fiber frames just make sure to sand down through the paint to the bare carbon and clean the area you are repairing

If you worry about strength of the repair you can always lay more pieces of carbon fiber down, keep in mind if you lay too many layers at once they will squish outwards when you apply the heatshrink tape, so best to stay around 5-6 layers and let fully cure before doing another 5-6 layers.

I do not declare myself a carbon repair specialist, I am just showing the techniques and products I use, and letting you know it all worked out great for me. You can try some repairs for fun with different amounts of layers to test the strength differences
