How to improve the air-condition of Lotus Elise S2 | Temperature warning signs |  Quick fix | Exige

Whenever Lotus Elise S2 owners meet, one common question asked is “How is your air-con? Mine is not so cold. In traffic jam, no air comes out.

Hello Raymond… greetings from Arabia. I just found your Lotus channel – great & thanks for sharing Lotus life in Malaysia . Here in the Gulf, Lotus made some further changes to increase cabin insulation & improve AC performance. Some changes are what you've noted like blocking off the open vents in the front crash structure. But the biggest change they made was a second evaporator / fan unit placed behind the seats. So that means the single compressor / condenser feeds two evaporator / fan units, one in the front as normal, the other above the fuel tank area in the cabin. These changes started in MY 2009, but are still happening today with Exige V6's. As Lotus' are sold in many hot countries, I don't know why they never offered this twin system beyond the Middle East… Best regards Sean
