Had that same problem on my brand new AEM 506 ECU but they wouldnt warranty it, which is fine, but the likely cause is just a single resistor, so I ask them for the location and long story short they wouldnt give it to me, so now I have a bricked $1500 ECU sitting around.
The sensor doesn't necessarily have to deliver 5V. Assuming it's a bistable Hall Effect Sensor (it only outputs on or off), if you're stopped on a tooth you might see 0V
you would only have 5 volts if the tooth is present, if it's at the gap won't it be o Volts? Need to rotate the engine by hand while watching the CPS signal voltage?
