You race how you want joe. You’ve played game long enough to know what works. I do conserve usually 3-4 clicks down and then manage it. Helps with the wear and F1 teams do actually put in as little as they can get away with but probably 2-3 laps less I’d guess.
I don't know who has been complaining that you stopped doing the uber fuel saving strategy. It was an experiment worth trying, and it didn't really help much. Maybe at a track where you know there's rain in the forecast or a high chance of safety cars? It's not something to revisit otherwise.
Running on high engine and tire temps makes the car run much slower much faster. It’s good to get the tires and engine in good temps for it to run at best efficiency for long periods which is crucial in this race for actually going up more in positions.
I have had 11/12 ranked cars and constantly finished top 6 because of this

Taking out all the fuel is not a good idea, as it limits your strategy.
