The seats have airbags in them so you should disarm the airbag system or unplug the negative battery post for at least half an hour
I've never had one explode on me and I've never had a single issue with simply just unplugging the seat or connector but again that's just me I'm not condoning that you do that
I put mine on the lower seat bezel. Some older explorers have it like that. I also had the snapped seat bolt. I got a stock bolt at the parts counter for a few bucks.

I live in South Florida is there a kit for cooling seats I'm not even sure how cooling seats work thanks for any info
