Showing how to repair/replace the driver’s side mirror on 1999 Lincoln Town Car. The original mirror is heated and has a dimming feature using a thin oil layer between mirror and piece of glass. The oil began to leak on mine causing distortion. I did not realized it was oil filled until I began the repair process.

Is the oil supposed to be in between the two panes of glass, or did it seep down into it from the seam? Does your defrost and auto dim still work? – I mistakenly bought the same Burco glass thinking it was an OEM replacement but if it functions properly I don’t mind keeping it.
Not very well thought out. How about adding removal and replacement? Waste of time.
