Enough straps on the conduit, buddy? One within a foot of the box…. at
least one every 10 feet thereafter along the run of the conduit. That
ground rod wire can be run bare out of those small holes pre punched in the
panel.

Ahmed Souraya says:

why is it that you guys used such a big wire? i am doing the exact same
project at home but i am planning on using 8-3 40amp wire. Would you
recommend getting a bigger wire or will my wire get the job done?

Rob D says:

Is their a reason you used a grounding rod?Why can’t you use ground from
the main panel?

jeff Riley says:

SER in conduit? Wire nuts (splices in your main)? That danger tape? You
don’t do this for a living do you? A vacuum cleaner and a roll of mason’s
string to get the pull rope in would save the fish tape… and the NEC says
your raceways (conduits)need to be completed before wire is installed.
BTW… you don’t need that metal threaded adapter —PVC male threaded
adapter with a bushing is good to go. I don’t think your house will burn
down but it amazes me what you can buy at a big box home center that took
me a 4 year apprenticeship to learn to install properly

Great video…For my garage I feel like a 100 amps is way too large. All
I’ll run is a small compressor, lights, a few battery tenders, but no heavy
equipment. My house has 200 amp service. What amperage box should I
install in my detached garage?

Howard Hase says:

awesome video.

ricerust says:

dude werd u get that whole roll of cable wire

TheFasterthanu1973 says:

For future DIY jobs on this garage, that looks like asbestos siding.

MARIO GONZALEZ says:

can i use rhh or rhw aluminum wire into main pannel?

Kyle Kozma says:

Hey Guys….I sat here and watched your whole installation video and I am
speechless to say the most. Some points were good but some points were bad.

Kudos for the video and showing some on how to install electrical service
to a sub panel. I don’t know where your located but it looks like a little
overkill on the installation.

Safety 1st is all I can say….

Matthew Canta says:

I like it but to much swearing

iman says:

In my county they do not allow SER cable in conduit. It has the be separate
wire strands inside the conduit.
