You’re Welcome, Jeremy you earned the praise. Great instructional video. You did all the hard work chasing and pricing parts. We Thank you. Pakrat

Jeremy Dunn says:

Hey thanks. Responses like this make it all worth while.

Phillip Irish says:

Great video and instructions. I’m a mechanical guy, but a little dense on reading and following instructions. But your (Jeremy) video and instructions covered all the bases and the video presentation was a Super Job. The closeups were great. I believe I can do the conversion using your video as the teacher; and the money saved will be great help too. Thanks Jeremy, you are a great teacher and videographer. Keep up the good work. Pakrat.

ok cool.Thanx for the response.

Jeremy Dunn says:

Well I downloaded the manual from HF and it is kind of confusing. Ont he picture they show the lead with a gas style nozzle. But nowhere in the text and other instructions do i see any evidence that it can be converted. If it could I would think they would play on that as it would make it a more desireable machine to buy. I am afraid to say that this looks like it is a flux core only machine and was built and designed to be flux core only. Hard to say for sure without seeing it.

1robbie55382 says:

do you know if this welder can be converted? I have all the parts needed. Harbor Freight 90 Amp Flux Wire Welder

Jeremy Dunn says:

Well it sounds like if you have a leak you need to figure out why and fix it. I am not sure why it would be leaking there. I cant remeber if mine does or not. Plus you got to remember the gas flow rate is 20 cubic foot per hour. keyword hour and not minute. its not a whole lot of gas flowing there. most times you can just barely hear it flowing. What machine are you working on is it the lincoln?

FrustratedBaboon says:

Well followed the steps just like you said and it is now working. I feel like the gas is not coming easily from the tip. There is some leaking in side the feed area but I am not sure. Any tips ?

joe guadian says:

cool video thx

Christoph Diermann says:

Fantastic! Thanks for the great comprehensive information.

Jeremy Dunn says:

What machine are you working on? If it is a convertable machine it will have leads somewhere. Let me have the model number and i will see what I can find out.

Keith Richards says:

Get all the parts ready to rock excitement builds,,, no solenoid leads on the mother board “h1 h2” then what?

shawn b says:

thanks for putting up the video, I found a 220v lincoln for $200, than when I looked at it, it didn’t have a gas hook up so was disappointed in that. Than stumbled on your video and now heading out the door to go pick up that mig. Great Video!

Jeremy Dunn says:

ouch man sorry you had those problems. I guess sometimes ya just got to chalk it up to a learning experience. Thanks for sharing and hope that helps others avoid that same mistake also.

Jeremy

FrustratedBaboon says:

I am a Jack Ass. I love this video I did every thing like he said but my solenoid was 12v. And it worked for 15 seconds and then smoke and fire out of the solenoid. Ordering the 110volt version now. I was pissed at the video but after watching again I feel like frustrated baboon.

mark strommen says:

Thanks well done

Jeremy Dunn says:

Cool glad it helped out. Nice to have some of that 150 to spend on some other projects huh. let us know how it goes.

MrChevytech says:

Workshop Rat,
You are the man! Thanks for showing where to find the parts, the price list and how you did the conversion.
I literally just cancelled my HD order, where I bought the $150 kit. Looking forward to doing this the Dunn way!
I subscribed and am looking forward to watching your other videos.
“Remember…the fingers NEVER leave the hand.” PRICELESS!! LOL
Thanks Mr. Dunn!

FrustratedBaboon says:

Wow some one took the time to do this !!! I was going at it alone. I have weld pak 100HD older than yours. I am so excited.

spencerw3455 says:

great job… wish i knew this b4 i started my chop on my supper beetle 🙂

patriciotorres6 says:

Mr.JEREMY. Thank You It is nice fully informative video.

Jeremy Dunn says:

No I havent. If you do want to to weld alum you will have to go with the teflon liner and change to pure argon gas. I have used one of the old sp 100s which is basically the same welder to weld alum with and it worked great. the short lead helps prevent bird nesting at the rollers. when pushing alum wire keep your lead as straight as possible to prevent bird nesting.

MIGUEL LABOY says:

Hello
Have you welded Aluminum yet with that conversion?

Jeremy Dunn says:

cool let me know when ya do I would love to see it.

allboostnojuice says:

Got my conversion done. Hope to have a video up soon.

Jeremy Dunn says:

Thanks for the great feedback. I am all for the low budget guys as I am one myself and am happy to share what I know.

alrato5009 says:

Mr. Dunn, I have same welder, Thank You! It is nice when someone actually makes a nice fully informative video.

Jeremy Dunn says:

that suks i didnt even think about the adaptor. Like I say mine already had it and just assumed all machines came with it. So how did the conversion go? come out about where I said on price?

allboostnojuice says:

Well I’m pretty much done. Went to put the roll on and found out I don’t have the adaptor. 🙁

Jeremy Dunn says:

It already had it when I bought the machine off of craigslist

allboostnojuice says:

Where did you get your spool adapter for the 10 pound roll? Local or the internet?

Jeremy Dunn says:

very cool let me know how it goes on the clarke. I would be interested to see how it worked out on that as i never have seen a clarke welder.

Terry Roberts says:

Thanks Jeremy, I just bought a clarke 190en mig. Can’t wait to convert mine..thanks again

allboostnojuice says:

I have a Weld Pak 100.

Jeremy Dunn says:

Very cool. Glad it helped. Just curious what kind of welder your going to convert as this will work on any convertable mig welder.

allboostnojuice says:

Awesome video. I’ve been wanting to convert for the longest. Thanks!

Jeremy Dunn says:

Cool man glad it helped. just keep in mind this will work for any mig welder that the gun and hose are capable of flowing gas but just dosent have the solenoid and the rest of the works. as long as it has that it is convertable.

smitty2919 says:

Awesome! I was going to get a HF flux core welder, but I think I’m going to find one of these on CL and do the conversion. With this conversion I should never need another welder. I don’t do heavy projects and I need a 110V welder. Thanks!
