2008 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR STARTER REPAIR

2008 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR STARTER REPAIR

This video will show you how to remove the solenoid from the starter in a 2008 Lincoln Navigator. This should be the same procedure for a 2007 – 2014 Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition. The starter solenoid is mounted beside the starter motor. If you solenoid is bad, as was mine, then this video will save you a considerable amount of time and money trying to replace the starter & solenoid as a combination unit. Most part stores sell it as a unit. I went on EBay and found the solenoid for $17 and was able to repair my unit.

This solves a ‘no start’ ‘intermittent start’ condition for my Lincoln Navigator.

Be sure, before you begin this work, remove the battery from the vehicle. Follow all safety procedures when working around a vehicle. This video is for educational purposes, I am not a certified mechanic, (however, I am an engineer), so I am showing you what worked for me that allowed me to get my car running again with very little effort and cost (which is why we all share ideas on YouTube!). Hey, is there any way you could do a how-to on the whole starter? I have a 13 and it won't start and would honestly like to just remove the entire starter because I bought a new one.

Bro, on ebay you could find the whole set, starter and solenoid brand new for $35. That's where I got mine. That's how I found this video cause I need help putting it on. I have a 2003 navigator.

Hi, Thanks for posting this video. I have a 2011 Lincoln Navigator giving me starting issues and I am thinking it could be the starter or the solenoid. Battery tests fine, connections look good. However, what's weird with my particular issue is that I can get the car started again by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. Once I do that the truck starts right up. Do you think this could be a faulty solenoid? Can't find any help on this on the web but just saw your helpful video. Thanks in advance!
