The driver’s seat on my 2013 Lexus RX350 was torn, cracked, worn and ugly. Small leather/vinyl leather patches failed, so I replaced the entire piece of leather on the seat bottom. Removing the seat, I reused the original seat heater unit and padding. Attaching a custom-fit leather/vinyl cover with clips and hog rings, the seat is restored to an original OEM appearance. This DIY fix required 2-3 hours to complete. The project was far cheaper than replacing the entire seat, though. The same process can be applied to replacing the leather on the back of the seat.
