thought this was an ls 430 aka lexus ….premium sound mark garbage speaker repair . I have 2003 ls 430 replaced the sub and both fronts never buy mark lev or lex again

Nick Stageberg says:

Unfortunately it is an extremely common problem and your speakers are almost certainly repairable.

Germaine George says:

Hey nick i have a 2003 lx470 with 90k miles on it and im having the same prob it sounds like its coming from the front pass speaker and the rear left speakers is this a comon prob from lexus and how can you tell if they are repairable thank you

Nick Stageberg says:

Glad you found it helpful!

Mike Huntoon says:

Thank you for this video I’m sure I have the same problem and will attempt this fix! Also the closed caption words in the video are pretty funny at times 🙂

Nick Stageberg says:

I don’t’ remember the diameters off the top of my head, I found the repair kits online (ebay I think) for a fraction of the cost of replacement speakers.

MrChato004 says:

What diameter is the front speaker that you are fixing? Also, what is the diameter of the subwoofer as well? Both are made by Mark Levinson and each is pretty pricey from the dealer. This seems a much better route to go.

Nick Stageberg says:

Hah, thanks!

Hi Where can I store pieces To Repair The Speakers Lexus???

spelunkerd says:

Interesting repair, Nick. I’ve never watched a speaker repair like this.

Say, I’m impressed by how similar our channels are. It’s gonna be fun to watch what you do next. My wife owns a Lexus and the speaker system is very basic.

Nick Stageberg says:

Well the first step is to see where the damage to the speaker is. If it has been damaged by high intensity/extended use, it probably doesn’t have the kind of damage described in this video and maybe unrepairable.

slim jim says:

hello nick i have a 10 inch pioneer and another ten inch well on has no foam around the sides and the other has foam around the cone butt….. ): i recently bleww it with to much bass but i was wondering if you could make a video of how to refoam a 10 inch subwoofer

Nick Stageberg says:

It is entirely fixable, but I replaced mine with a kicker 10c88 subwoofer from crutchfield for 50 bucks. Works perfectly and sounds great.

iamaheadhntr says:

Hey Nick my Lexus LS430 is suffering from the same issue that you address in your video but my speaker is in the center of the rear deck. I thought I would need to replace the entire speaker before watching. How much would a repair like your reccomending cost? I want a comparison to evaluate against the cost of just buying a new speaker.

Doug Kibler says:

Great information, thanks Nick. Where do you get the repair kit? Thanks!

Nick Stageberg says:

Thanks!
