Hi Al nice video, can you help me with instructions, i have problem that my
handle for 5 door broken like in youre video (right one) and i dont know
how to pull out both handles housing under the seat. I managed to unscrew
the screw of handles but cant pull out them. If you have some video I will
be grateful to you :)…regards
This is smart! Thanks. One concern I have is if the metal end of the clip
will wear off the paint and cause rust. I’ll try this but put something
over the paint to protect it (maybe tape, or thin plastic).
Excellent! My spring was not broken – tired – I stretched it out. I know it
will probably break soon, but at least I know what to do. And I can open
the door to gas up.
AWESOME!!! Took longer to walk to my office in the house than it did to
insert clip in gas door. Of course i will order the correct part but a
temp fix this is awesome.
Thanks Al. The plastic part behind the cover that you took it out broke
on my car this morning. I searched for a solution and saw your video. It
is now fixed with a binder clip. You are so clever!
Thanks so much for this video. The car wash broke my spring and this video
kept me from going through the whole ordeal of having them fix it. It works
great!
Awesome! Works perfectly! And to think I’ve been propping open the lever
with the cigarette lighter for 2 years and the solution to this has been in
my desk drawer!!!
Many thanx! Went to servo to fuel up n whammo no go, couldn’t open catch!
Went home, googled and there it was, yeh for binder clips. Cheers, have now
got full tank of fuel :)
Thank you SO much for this!! I just bought a car that had this problem,
and your video enabled me to easily fix it myself and understand the
problem. Thanks again!!! :)
Thank you all for your positive comments guys. I never thought a lot of
people would have the same problem. I also initially brought my car to the
Toyota dealer shop only to be told it would cost me over $200 for the
simple fix. I searched online for the replacement part but then I noticed a
small binder clip lying on the side of my PC and realized this thing could
work and it did. Until now I still have the same clip I installed almost 2
yrs ago which I thought would last just a few months.
That worked for us on a 2002 Prius. Thanks so much!
