Any one know if the cover needs to be removed if a windshield replacement was necessary ?
As a molding tech just make sure your cover fits first "before" applying any sealer. Do a dry run first!! Not everything comes out perfectly in molding, sorry folks it just don't.
More sealers always better? May or may not be the case here, maybe the maker can test this one out?
My guess is a very thin layer may actually hold best?
I started out as a young mechanic (until my back got me) and I learned a very thin layer of silicone can hold/seal much better than a thicker layer. To teach me this my boss simply made a bet with me, cause at 18 hell' I just new I was right and he was wrong you know?..lol.
So' I installed a new valve cover gasket on my way (thick bead) while he installed the other side (very thin more like a glaze) then he had me remove them both the next day. Mine came right off, man I like to never got his side off. I can't say it holds true here, I've not bought one yet but its held true on just about everything I used silicone on since 1978 when I lost $20 and had to buy valve covers for someone else's damn car…lol It saved the shop a ton in silicone too.

I have some gouges/crumbling around my nav/radio in my 2007 ES350. Will this overlay cover it?
Trying installing exactly as on instructions, using your silicone glue. Unfortunately two or three days in, the cover just comes off. Any suggestions?
Does this need to cure in the shade or under the sun is fine? Do the windows need to be kept open while it cures?
