Too bad this is just a patch to the real problem. Sorry guy give your motor some time it will re occur. Hopefully you will have sold it by then. IMO that lexus dealers way of doing motors is horrible. I am suprised nobody has had a motor fallen on them while installing pistons with those shady jack stands..ha!

757vcchy says:

yes it will….

757vcchy says:

hahaha if it is a rattle noise at start up is the cam gears that are making noise and lexus should fix it …it does not give an engine light

jose perez says:

I really love this video I have a question. Im the 2nd owner of my is250 and I think I felt a misfire at idle at a stop sign will this still cover if im 2nd owner

A1Zealot says:

I’m taking my IS in tomorrow for this exact service. After a few rough idle’s I called them up and they were most accommodating and said all they have to do is verify the problem by putting it on a computer that will mimic the conditions. The advisor said they will probably replace my pistons and rings. All the while, they will give me another IS for the week completely free of charge. Must say, so far I have been beyond pleased with Lexus!

Just dropped mine off. My 06 gs300 with 60k miles qualified! Been driving their 2013 Es waiting for parts to arrive. I turned down the only cost of spark plugs since they were done at 45k miles. My steering wheel has a squeek when turning with car parked or driving. Little in easy about opening a motor and technically rebuilding it. Can anyone share how theirs rams after the repair?

PJON214 says:

I sold my 2009 is250 after I got it back. Even though it ran smooth I couldn’t live with myself know stripped my whole engine apart. I’m afraid it will break down so I let it go. I now drive an rx350

Corey Ryan says:

As a Toyota/Lexus certified tech, this is such shit. When there is a complaint on a vehicle, the vehicle is plugged to a diagnostics machine to read even the codes that don’t set your CEL off.

If above customer is sure something is wrong with engine, and the car has not been modified, take it to the dealership, get them to run diagnostics, pay the $100 bucks, and when they find something actually wrong you will get the money back.z

wed3k says:

been doing work for the lexus dealer and what we do at the machine shop is not going to solve thier carbon buildup problem. we are merely just patching the problem. frs/brz’s have a 5th injector for cleaning out the carbon.

time to buy one cheap out of warranty and put a ls1.

jnagime says:

Also valves,valves springs!

jnagime says:

Thanks,Lexus already fix it,she left the car there for 2 weeks, the problems was camshafts cam gear.

homeaddition says:

Tell your sister not to give up and have her take it to another dealer. You can also write a letter to Lexus. If there is something really wrong with the car that’s considired a defect you CAN get it fixed. #lexus #Lemonlaw

homeaddition says:

You Guys? This was done at the dealership… #lexusGS

There’s rumors that this overhaul isn’t fixing the problem. The cars consume oil also. It won’t be long till lexus puts a stop to this campaign.

1stPlayL says:

All my CSP service was free. Including the loaner car for 5 weeks. At the time, my car was no longer under any factory or CPO warranty.

1stPlayL says:

That VSC light is extremely misleading. Your VSC is disabled every time you throw the Check Engine Light (CEL) code. You could get a VSC to illuminate if your gas cap isn’t sealed, any engine sensor fails, exhaust leak, misfire, and so on. Anyways my point is that is not an indicator of the problem. You need to have your OBD codes read. My VSC came on after a misfire. Went off after 2 weeks. Then with no indicators on my dash, my car failed the dealers CSP test and qualified for repairs.

1stPlayL says:

You will likely never drive a new loaner LS. With the selling price of that car the depreciation as a courtesy car would destroy the value of that car. It is also suppose to be an elitist car and Lexus needs to protect that. They don’t want chumps like me to buy a cheap IS for $18K CPO to have the privilege to drive the $100K car.

Also the dealer needs to perform a test to see if your vehicle qualifies for CSP. Engine misfire codes do not need to be present to qualify or fail the test.

1stPlayL says:

Another update. I brought my vehicle into NTB for new wheels and tires. When my IS250 was put up on the lift the tech noticed a small coolant leak. The leak is near where one would expect the coolant to overflow. Additionally, I had the low oil level light come on for the first time ever as the dealer changed the oil after the engine work. At this point there are no ill affects. I am attributing it to the systems empty of fluid, a poor job was done with fluid measures.

MJ Photodesign Studios says:

Is this all free? My IS250 is having rough idle,CEL and VSC light came on. Car has 77K.

Alex Le says:

I bought a 2006 gs 300 used, so how would I find out if I’m qualified for the piston ring and valse seal

homeaddition says:

So has mine but it is a lot warmer now as well… #lexus #toyota #recalls

homeaddition says:

I would always buy another #Lexus, but we all know that they are not without their faults. I’m actually a huge Mercedes fan but they unfortunately have had serious reliability problems. I’m hoping they get new management and fix these issues because with the internet they cannot escape their reputation. Who wants to pay $100,000 for an S-class and constantly shell out cash for repairs… checkout out #Mercedes problems dot com for interesting reading.I’m hoping the new ones are better.

homeaddition says:

Thanks man! #Lexus Recalls

homeaddition says:

I love the fact that we get to drive the latest #Lexus offerings 🙂 Maybe one day I can manifest a Lexus LS loaner 😛

homeaddition says:

I drove a 2007 5 series #BMW 525i recently and I was not impressed. They threw in an anemic v6 with only 215 horsepower into it; that’s ridiculous for such a big car. I was always curious about the “Ultimate Driving Machines”, unfortunately the 525 was a let down.

I personally prefer Mercedes over BMW because of they have a much nicer interior, but Lexus is not too shabby either 🙂

BTW: I also drove the 2009 #Mercedes E-class e350 with 268 hp, that thing pulled like a freight train 🙂 #cars

skyfox16 says:

As far as i know the IS250 does not have a power steering pump or fluid. Its all electronic and controlled by a steering ECU.

jnagime says:

My sister is250 runs bad with a huge noise on the cold start sounds like the piston or the valves is bad,its under warranty but lexus dont wanna fix because thers not check engine codes.Thats why i drive Infiniti.

KawaiDigital says:

i dont like this video…. i loooove it! Im glad i found out about this issue since I might be getting an IS 250 as well. Thank you :)!

TheTooTool says:

If you steering is feeling a bit tight it would probably not be the power steering pump, sense your vehicle has electric power steering, all steering assist is in the rack.

1stPlayL says:

With that said, I still dream about a BMW because every time a read a car review on a new competitor they always go “this is an amazing car, but it’s not a BMW”. I would like to experience that for myself and see if that is true.
Other than give me a free car, I don’t really know how much more they can give you. I wonder what happens if you buy an LS?

1stPlayL says:

As a younger customer, I also feel like they are extra nice to me because they are trying to get my business long term. I even noticed after my CSP repairs that they replaced a few of the plastic clips for the engine bay covers that were missing, filled the car with a whole tank of gas, washed and vacuumed, and then called me to make sure everything was running well.

1stPlayL says:

The maintenance can be challenging, but with research, tools, and resourcefulness it is doable. Each time I drop my car off I spend the day rolling around in a brand new fully loaded loaner vehicle. Most recently I had a loaner for 5 weeks during the CSP repairs. I drove almost every car in their fleet. Otherwise, I sit in a beautiful lounge with coffee & internet while they fix my car for free.

1stPlayL says:

Since 2009 to current, I have paid the dealer $48.50 total for repairs. The warranty has covered the rest and there has been no waits to get corporate to get the warranty department to approve repairs. That amount was for a cabin filter that they noticed a mouse chewed. I figured they got my whole car apart and they noticed it. I wanted my car back already so I authorized the replacement. I do most of the routine maintenance myself (oil, tires, brakes, spark plugs).

1stPlayL says:

. I have had the following issues all covered: exhaust pipe hole ($2,000+), 2 sensors fail ($800), excessive brake pad dust (free brake job), tighten steering column (Voluntary recall), Floor mat (recall, brand new mats provided), roadside assistance tow service call for flat tire because I drove the tires bald (no charge)and now the engine issue ( CSP $7,000+?). Many of these issues I would say are uncommon and fluky. The engine issue was major and Lexus “made things right”.
