So we were removing and replacing the engine in our 2006 land rover LR3 and this is going to be the same procedure for the 2006 2007 2008 2009 land rover with the 4.4 V8

First thing that needs to be done as you need to remove the passenger side wheel and remove the passenger side wheel inner fender liner. With the vehicle up on jackstands you will have to do a little bit of work from underneath. Knowing how to do this and using the Tips that I give you on holding your wrench I highly recommend you watch the whole video. Once that is removed we are going to start removing the heat shields that allow you to access the top of the starter they are held on by 3-10 mm bolts The starter is held on by 2-13 mm bolts one perfectly at the top and one at the bottom. The one that the video focuses on is the very top bolt it is the most difficult to get to and remove if you do the top bolt before you do the bottom bolt it will be simpler at this point we’re gonna remove the main electrical connector after we disconnect the battery. Always disconnect the negative before you disconnect the positive. Then using the tips and procedures that I give you in the video we’re going to go ahead and remove the top bolt and then go underneath the vehicle to remove the lower bolt . Then you can tap it with the long prybar .
