Love You Sir…Gr8 Work. I just repaired my hyundai i20 key with your technique. It works superbly. Thanks for making & sharing practical videos.
This was such a great help! The only thing is the Hyundai 2015 key doesn't have that little white section for the chip. Its just the main green chip and battery so I just skipped that part but it seems like all Hyundai key buttons give out after 2-3 years…
Also I just used back the same metal cut key in the new body as only the buttons were the problem.
The Kona key is slightly different, does not have the battery access piece, I guess you have to spring the whole case apart to change a battery. Our two fobs are sometimes reluctant to show a light each time used and they are only a few months old.I asked the service dept how to open them to change a battery and they scratched their heads and said "it's a new model vehicle, not sure how to open it, probably? just springs apart like the old ones", not confidence inspiring, said if I break it trying to open it that it's a $500 replacement.
Could you use the entire key blade assembly from the old smart case with the new case, Is the pivot mechanism different?
Thank you, the big question was "Why the spring doesn't work?"
Excellant vidio. Really well made and understandable. Thank you.
much easier to just replace the keypad. move the rubber part from one to the other one.
