Andy Phillips shows how to replace the valve cover gasket on a 2013 Kia Rio with the 1.6L Hyundai engine. When these gaskets start to fail oil can leak out causing low levels and a burning smell.

This is why I want to learn to work on my own car, I had my valve cover gasket replaced at a reputable shop a while back, the job costed like 300$. Google says the actual gasket costs between 10-40$. If I had knew how to do the job myself I would have saved a couple of hundred bucks. Being poor has motivated me to learn. There is a certain anxiety I am having to overcome to working on my own car. But I think I can overcome at least some of it.
