2025 Kia Stonic Turbocharged – Ready for the City Adventure?
The price of the 2025 Kia Stonic city SUV is set to rise by $3170, or 14%, with the new model offering turbocharged power and more features across the range. The updated model will replace the current 1.4-liter non-turbo engine with a 1.0-liter turbo three-cylinder engine, producing 74kW and 172Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The base model’s price will increase from $22,290 to $25,460 plus on-road costs, and the new range will include enhanced equipment such as blind-spot monitoring with Collision Avoidance Assist. Despite the price hike, Kia aims to provide more value with these additional features.
In comparison to the previous models, prices will increase between $990 to $1800, depending on the variant, but with the added benefit of more advanced safety features and improved fuel efficiency. The new turbo engine offers a fuel consumption rate of 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers, a significant improvement from the 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers of the outgoing 1.4-liter engine. CO2 emissions are also reduced from 155g/km to 125g/km.
The updated Stonic will come with 15-inch alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, and enhanced interior features such as single-zone automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers for the mid-range Sport model. The GT-Line may receive upgrades like heated front seats and part-LED tail-lights.
Kia has paused orders for the existing 1.4-liter variants to manage back-orders and transition to the new turbocharged models. The updated Stonic is expected to arrive in showrooms shortly, with more details to be revealed closer to its launch. The new prices for the 2025 Kia Stonic in Australia are: Stonic S 1.0-liter turbo auto at $25,460, Stonic Sport 1.0-liter turbo auto at $28,590, and Stonic GT-Line 1.0-liter turbo auto at $31,780, excluding on-road costs.
These changes aim to make the Stonic more competitive in the small SUV market while addressing customer demand for advanced features and better performance.
