Jeep Wrangler Cabin Air Filter Install is SO EASY! Do It Yourself and Save Money

In this video I’ll show you how easy it is to install a cabin air filter into the Jeep Wrangler JK and if you already have a cabin air filter… it’s the same process to change that out. Probably the easiest upgrade / regular maintenance task you’ll ever get to do on your Jeep!
No tools required, just get the air filters from your local parts store and you’ll be done in no time at all!
Don’t let the dealer trick you into spending WAY more than this job is worth and get the satisfaction of doing it yourself!

Every time I took my 2012 Sahara to my friendly local Jeep dealer for service, they ticked the "not applicable" box for checking my cabin filter, implying I did NOT have one. Because of your video, I found I DO have one, but there were no filters installed in it. So I've been pulling dust into my cabin for 7 years?!? 🙁 I got filters from Quadratec and it took 3 minutes to do the job. I wonder what else I don't know about <_< Thanks and thumbs up, Joe

I think i've explored about every inch of my '13 wrangler and had no idea that this filter box was even there lol. Love this channel!

Bryan Resch says:

I didnt see you take any filters out , does that mean it doesn't come with filters already in ? Or did I miss something ?

Red Magi says:

Thanks Again Jason! I'm a bit embarrassed I didn't know it had one either! Quick amazon order and done!

When are you posting more vids on the jeep?? Loved watching all the mods!!

Juan Reyes says:

It does get pretty dusty at the Florida Mall. I've been wheelin' there since I bought my JKU in '09, so I think it's time to do this to mine. Haha.
On a serious note, I asked at the local auto parts stores and both told me that it was not available because there wasn't a cabin filter on the Jeep!!! Time to go to back and get this. Thanks for the info and the video.

Michael Morris says:

Thought about it, but the top and doors are usually down/off. I don't know that it would help any

Rick Francis says:

Always enjoy your videos, especially about the Jeep.

Brian Retter says:

Are you still going to make a video about the Jeep underbody detailing and rust prevention?

Thanks for this info. Based on your video I ordered filters from Amazon and installed them. I found a set that was less than $10, rather than the $18.75 you quoted from Pep Boys. They seem to work well, but it took a while for them to arrive from China (Roughly 2 weeks). Here's a link:

One thing you didn't mention was the orientation. My filters came with arrows on the side indicating the airflow direction. (FYI: It's top to bottom in the Jeep). I didn't see arrows on the filters you installed, but I can't see any difference in my filters anyway. They seem symmetric – just like a fan-folded piece of paper.

Hey Autoedit! My '15 Rubicon new off the truck didn't come with these. I didn't find out until my second oil change when the service tech asked if I wanted them changed. I said sure since they're cheap. He came back and said there wasn't any to change out. I phoned Chrysler and the rep said my jeep should have come with filters. So I complained and asked to get some for free too no avail. But the technician said not to worry because driving around with no top defeats having any air filters anyways so I just said screw it. He said mine was not the only jeep he has seen new without them. I'm wondering if it is a Rubicon / Sahara thing?

Thanks for posting. One question though, why is your windshield not cracked?
