Hey guys!!! Its time to upgrade the interior of my 2005 Jeep wrangler LJ. And the perfect place to start is a nice double din touchscreen radio. This radio has a ton of modern features and looks really cool. The radio itself is a SSL brand, which is ultimately made by Boss Audio.. Its a cheaper model, but very similar to what Ben installed on his JKU. This radio comes with Carplay, Andriod Auto, Bluetooth, Optional reverse camera input, other audio and visual inputs, and more! The only thing it doesnt have is a CD player, which is something i didnt need.
In order to fit a larger touch screen radio, i had to use a DD dash kit from amazon. Along with that, we had to trim out the plastic support piece in the dash above the HVAC controls. But other than that, fitting a new radio into the Jeep was super easy.
Like i said in the video, this setup is less than $300, and its an upgrade you can do in your garage or driveway in just a few hours!

I did a 7 inch motorized fold out single din Pioneer NEX3400. It is nice cause the Jeep is topless all Summer and it hides away when I'm not in the Jeep. Plus you can still use in in the tucked position if you get stuck in the pop up rain storm!

I did the double din upgrade on my daughter’s Jeep around the same time. You really have to get crafty with the frame attachment. I actually plastic welded some brackets because the 99 radio mount was useless. I used an Alpine ILX with the wireless Apple CarPlay. So nice!

be careful of some of those wires, cant tell if theyre bare but those blue and blue/white wires i see dangling put out 12v when the radio is on and if they hit ground inside the dash it could pop a fuse or ruin something
Only thing id need one of those radios for is off road maps and backup cam

Just bought this exact setup after watching this video. I was hoping you might be able to help with a question. I bought the dash kit with the supplied harness but the wires are not tagged and there was no schematic either… I’m stuck….any help would be soooo appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
