Also used an 8″ socket extension-worked perfectly

Christopher G says:

Did this today on my 2007 Laredo 3.7 V6. Took 2 hours never doing it before.89k on the vehicle first time for plugs. Couple things learned: Used a T-27 hex to remove the front screws on the air box (Used a 4″ driver but for the pass. side-you need at least 6″+ to reach). Flatheat to loosen the clamps obviously. Once removed I used a 10mm for the coils. Used a swivel 5/8 spark plug socket–heard the pass-side was hard. W/o the swivel socket could not have done it, passanger side no prob. Thanks!

Great info, I need help with the fuel injectors though.

OrijenoSin says:

it’s a left hand monkey wrench.

badrogers says:

Thanks, that was awesome! I could kick myself for waiting over 8 years and 89k miles to replace the original plugs. Runs so much better and a nice bonus on the hood lift. I wish I had done that years ago. Found them cheaper on ebay, but only $15 at Autozone and 2 minutes of work definitely worth it.

Talal El-Hefnawy says:

Awesome video.. thanks man.. You saved me a bundle.

anthonyddrummer says:

Great video man, quick question; for this exact jeep what does the torque wrench have to be on to tighten the spark plug?

Mike Michaels says:

Awesome RoadRage! Mine was having the exact same problem as Bryan on a 2006. Plugs fixed the issue. $12 instead of the shop that quoted me $400 to fix the issue. Plugs were visibly burned out creating a gap 2-3 times over spec

jullien83 says:

Thanks for posting this video. I changed my spark plugs for the very time, thanks your guidance

tainzman says:

I have a 02 v6 is it the same

Chris Waters says:

a v8 has 8 plugs? this is a v6 so its got 6 plugs. common sense

Roger Davenport says:

Thank you this was very helpful, only took me about 30 minutes to change all 6.

Brian Farnsworth says:

Whats the torque spec on the spark plug

gclanzer says:

Weres the spark plugs in a 00 jeep grand cherokee

bowtechlover1 says:

Thank you! I love your jeep videos!! I just replaced my water pump in my 04 gc and had to remove alternator. It was pretty good job. But it just costs me some time and elbow grease. Thank you!!

letty hernandez says:

i thought jeeps have 8 spark plugs, my is a grand cherokee, and it v8, u only replace 4 or u didnt put it in the video.

DAVID VIDAL says:

what kind the wrench is that?

ipunnamja says:

did you check the coil?

tiananman says:

1 year late, but it wouldn’t be the same size. The jeep cherokee didn’t come in a V6 until 2005, so any engine before then would either be a bigger V8 or a 4 liter inline 6. It’s a completely different engine and the placement will not be the same at all.

Flybutnotplayin says:

Unplug the battery first

jfa63 says:

Great job! short and to the point. thanks!

Dnuccio95ZJ says:

I have a question for you. My dads 05 grand cherokee devoloped a misfire today. he stopped at an auto parts store and scanned it. misfire on cyl #6. we replaced all the plugs. still same problem. replaced the coil on #6 and that fixed it. how do we get the check engine light to turn off?

Dnuccio95ZJ says:

its not too bad, my dad and i just did his GC 3.7L spark plugs IN THE DARK in about 45 minutes for all 6.

roadragecustoms says:

Buy some Seafoam. It has directions on the can.

nico27004 says:

do you need a magnetic socket for the spark plugs or do the rubber inserted ones work just as fine for putting them in? mine fall out a lot when putting them back in. should i push them into the socket a little harder to secure them while a hand thread them in maybe?

Bryan Strickland says:

Just replaced the plugs. Everything seems to be great. Skip and check engine light are gone. Your video helped tremendously. How(or should I) clean the fuel injectors?

PrinceOftheCty says:

This man took the time out of his day to make the vid and all you bitch fucks can do is bitch about the little mistakes he made? What is this world coming to?

roadragecustoms says:

Maybe. It could be anything from: plug(s), coil(s), injectors(s), wiring, internal engine issue, etc.

Bryan Strickland says:

My 2005 Jeep seems to be “skipping” when I accelerate. Will replacing the spark plugs fix this?

lll2for3lll says:

Now put a Fastman TB, K&N, and buy a SCT Tuner with a 93 Octane Tune. Check out my videos.

greggv8 says:

Show us how nasty it is to get to the back two coils and plugs tucked back in under the cowling. 😉

Miranda Rights says:

I have no idea honestly. I know its a V6 – its a Grand Cherokee/Laredo I’ll have to pop the hood for any other specs/info/

roadragecustoms says:

Do you have the same engine size? If so, it should be very similar.

Miranda Rights says:

Will this video also work for 2003?

Cezar Oborn says:

next time don’t slam the hood shut….i dislike mechanics that do that….close it and press gently where the latch is….this method has never failed me….other than that wonderful video…thanks

awdking says:

DID HE JUST DROP THE PLUG INTO THE HOLE ? -_-

roadragecustoms says:

You assume correct.

notpcone says:

I’m assuming that there are 6 coils for this 3.7 ?

roadragecustoms says:

That was almost 2 years ago. I don’t remember. It should be possible in under an hour.

UncleRel says:

Great video…I’m currently draining my oil b/c I got water thru my intake. I’ll start on the spark plugs tomorrow. Eventho this video was 8mins, how long did this actually take?

bvaughn4 says:

Thanks for the video! Was unfamiliar with the coil per cylinder thing and I was sure scratching my head as to where the plugs were!
