TJ Brewster says:

Any idea why after install the key won’t start the Jeep? Key fob will start the Jeep but the key won’t with this installed

Dimitri Keshishyan says:

What’s the difference in the kits: with powerlock and without powerlock?

Michael says:

3:45 Now that you got that off… straight to the grinding wheel and get rid of that goddamn lip so you don't have to bother with that PITA again!

طلال الاسمري says:

Guys who have use it, after 2 years now is there any problem by using this item or every thing is ok ??? Is the any harm on the vehicle, forgive my English:)

squad526 says:

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler that didn't have power locks or power windows when I got it. I have installed aftermarket power locks and windows and everything has been great. Next I would like to get remote start. Is there a kit available that I can use with my current After Market remotes ?

Alan Jimenez says:

Just installed this on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Very easy install and great video for guidance!

Suprise Motherf*cker says:

Hey is their a way to turn off the vehicle with the key fob? Also how much time does it stay running?

CERTIFIED AUTO SALES says:

Great vid would have loved more detail regarding the clam shell cover removal and then reinstallng. From what I’ve seen that is the only PITA. So more help with that would have been better. Thanks for the rest though. I’ll be installing two of these tomorrow 2013 and 2016. Thx Mikel Todd for your extra help

J Hoops says:

This helped so much! Great video! We found it easier to have a multi-tool to depress the clamp rather than sticking our fat fingers in there!

Daniel Dee says:

Thanks for the video man. Just did it. Glad I watched your video first. I took it out of the box and had it all plugged it. Didn't even know there was a sequence and since I'm a man I wasn't going to read directions.

Black American Patriots says:

My jeep doesn't have electric door locks or windows. Will this work for my 2016 wrangler sport

Erika Alfaro says:

Just curious, what happens if you don't cut the purple wire?

Slowangel 818 says:

what if your jeep doesn’t have a key fob??.. btw first video I’ve ever seen of yours and I jst had to subscribe great video man!

Squirrel Killa says:

Is there an option to turn off all of the honking?

Jess A. V. says:

I bought this remote starter and installed today using this video. I’m super novice when it comes to car stuff, but I was able to install on my own – and it worked on the first try! Thanks so much for posting this!

Mikel Todd says:

So, after watching this video, I decided to give it a try. This tutorial was incredibly helpful, and I thank Rocky X. I would, however, make a few observations, based on my install. First, bottom of the clam shell around the steering column DID come out without removing the steering wheel, but it did break off a small piece of that lip. It was completely hidden after re-installation, and served no purpose at all. When you try to remove the lower half, try to pull the side facing the passenger out just a little to clear the ignition. Secondly, the harness plugged in to the immobilizer is REALLY hard to remove. the wires run in a small slot where your finger needs to go to release the catch. You can gently manipulate this bundle of wires to make it easier to push in the catch and remove the harness. Last, getting the lip on the lower half of the clam shell back in behind the back of the steering wheel is almost as much fun as removing it. if you can get a little bit in, feed it in with a trim tool until you get all of the way around. I hope this helps someone trying this for the first time, as I was. It is a little challenging, but SO worth it for such a useful, high quality product at a great price !

I thought I should comment having just wrapped up my install.

I am one of those poor unfortunate souls who has a model year that has a lip on the bottom steering column cover. To say it was a pain in the rear, is really an understatement!

I love the video, I think it does a really good job of helping a prospective installer visualize how to install this unit. Rocky does a phenomenal job of walking through the steps and the camera footage is pretty good too!

I mean no offense to the MyPushCart team or to Rocky's team but I think a professional installer would probably remove the steering wheel – the lip is simply too big to get that cowl out without damaging something. I didn't want to remove the steering wheel because I simply didn't want to take the risk with the air bag.

Just a little background, I'm used to working on Wranglers – including the electrical system. I consider myself the "target audience" for the MyPushCart team – a tinkerer who has years of experience working with cars, especially Wranglers.

I easily spent an hour pulling and prying on that cowl trying to get it off. It simply is a giant pain in the rear. The lip is too large for the gap provided… When finished, I chipped one area and broke part of the lip off on another and seriously distressed the teeth on the right side.

Knowing what I do now, I think I'd seriously look to find a replacement cowl and use a pair of diagonal cutters to remove the old one. To reinstall the cowl, I trimmed the lip to less than half its original size. I'm sure I'm defeating all of the reasons the lip exists and probably invalidating warranties or something but it was soooo much easier to install the trimmed cowl. If you manage to get the cowl off, consider trimming that lip down. Also, I noticed nothing in my plethora of tools that was plastic was strong enough to work the lip. I covered a chisel with a shammy and used it to pry the lip out. Yes, there are scratches on my cowl now but they're mostly hidden behind the steering wheel.

Pay attention to how Rocky works the left side of the cowl then the right. You can stress the left side way more than the right and have to work it around the keyhole. I ended up using a tiny screwdriver to pry apart the top and bottom cowl pieces on the right – for some reason they just wouldn't budge free and you need that if you are to have any hope of getting the bottom cowl off. I also found I had to release the steering wheel lock to give me freedom to stress the bottom cowl. I almost wish they had left this footage in the video so I could see if Rocky used some techniques I didn't think of. I don't mind cuss words and could use the visuals to help me understand whether I was using bad techniques…

Taking out the plug on the immobilizer was very tricky. I had my daughter press the release button while I pulled on the upper and lower wires on the plug to shimmy it out. There simply is no way to grab the plug directly and neither a needle nose or adjustable pliers could get a good grip on it to work it out. So reach underneath and work the wiring harness free and plan on using the wires to help you free the plug.

Note: when you install the plug from the wiring harness into the immobilizer – press it until it clicks. I did not do that first time and couldn't get the unit to program properly. So I went back and reseated connections and noticed that one had to be pressed down pretty firmly until it clicked.

Once installed, the unit worked perfectly! It's a pretty cool thing when you think about it. And I completely understand why folks are asking for 2 locks instead of 3. If you're not concentrating on it, it seems like getting 3 consecutive presses is tricky – or at least it was for me. 🙂

By no means am I trying to disrespect the product or talk anyone out of installing it – I just thought that Rocky made the install look so effortless that it was worth a public service announcement to say mileage definitely varied for me and I'm having a beer to unwind after this project….

EDUARDO PEREDA says:

Hi so I purchase the kit wit the rf remote but I can’t make it work

Gabriel Molina says:

How far does it reach for the remote start to work? Also is it possible to program another remote instead of the key for a farther reach?

Stace Wabasse says:

Can i use prostart CT3271 remote starter on 2010 jeep sport?

CrossAutoFilms says:

When programming, do you need to do both keys or is it just the vehicle that is programmed?

supreme action says:

Great video and break down! Worked out great!!
