Hey Doc your the first person who has explained properly and not just gone straight to the track bar. I only did a 2" lift amd level but I've been fighting death wobble off and on ever since. I do have to replace my front upper control arm bushings and im hoping that helps but how do I measure my caster cause nobody has ever pointed that out for me. Awesome vid man!

Grady Ligon says:

So if I’m understanding this correctly, my caster is one of the first things to check to resolving my death wobble. I should check that ahead of my Track Bar, Ball Joints, and Tie Rod Ends. I’m in a 14 JKU that I lifted 2.5” on 35s. Lifted is a couple years ago and just now running into consistent wobble problems.

Mike Greer says:

The root of death wobble is improper toe. Any amount of toe in can cause it. Or if you experiment too far out can cause it also. With larger footprint tires, you'll usually end up slightly out before it goes away.
It really is that simple.

Hello, 2009 JKU, just replaced tie rods, drag link and track bar, all teraflex, no lift, and still have death wobble, I took it to an alignment shop and they told me the ball bearings are good, help!!! What else could it be?

Cole Francom says:

Great video! It’s helping me understand why I have developed a death wobble. I experienced it twice for the first time tonight at 70mph. I just installed a 4.5 lift on my 86 MJ that came with fix lower control arms. No uppers. But I did install a new adjustable track bar. Do you think I’m going to have to replace both the upper and lower control arms with adjustable ones to fix my issue? Or can you think of another option? Thanks again for the great video.

How much does it cost to changes the track bars?

So I have a death wobble after I hit a bump but my suspension is stock what can I do to fix that

Dear Dr. Death Wobble,

I’m having some death wobble problems after lifting my WJ, do you think that a 3” lift is enough to require adjustable lower arms and a caster correction? I’m showing around 5.5° of caster currently.
Thanks!

Question….what would be the proper Caster angle for a 2018 Jeep 4d Rubicon

rick m says:

So does this mean the yj or before isn't susceptible to death wobble?

Matt McNeil says:

Great stuff on this topic. Thank you.

I have an 02 Wrangler with 66,000miles and factory suspension. I'm getting death wobble. Any suggestions?

Awesome educational video boss! We need more people like you in th world

Very good explanation. Ould it be the best to shorten the upper control arm just a bit and extend the lowe control arm so the axle stays where it is? I'm looking for a 2 or 2.5 inch lift for my 2001 4.0 TJ sport. I run 32×11.5×15 tires on stock suspension now. It drives great an doesn't rub even in full lock. But I have less articulation. What lift do you recommend and what parts do I need just to get it perfect? I know a 2 or 2.5 inch lift is not that dramatic but never the less, I want it right. I live in Holland so I can't come over to show my Jeep to you guys hahaha
