aldonco says:

He is right don't ever buy a used police car. unless it was the chief's car. We beat the sh1t out of them and most run 24 hours and are not maintained.

omgcheeter says:

Man FCA is straight hot trash

daewooparts says:

Jeep is Cheep !

Mel B says:

It's odd how the two 4×4 wheel drive legacy builders Jeep and Land Rover have such differing reviews, they seem to be a love or hate vehicles. Here in the U.K Jeeps are nowhere near as popular Range Rovers which seem often to be bought for the style rather than their abilities. I have run two Jeep Compass 2011 and 2014 both with the 2.2 Merc Diesel engine and 4×4 , both needed a new water pump, power steering assembly at 50.000 miles which not only was expensive but a labour intensive job. Apart from that they were both reliable and economical on fuel and a have good off road capabilities. I've been happy with mine 110000 miles on the first one and approaching that with the second.

Richie Grohs says:

I was a certified Jeep,Chrysler,Subaru B TECH IN 2002 AND WE WOULD GET BRAND NEW JEEPS ALL MODELS WITH LEAKING HEADLIGHT CAPSULES AND CRACKED CYLINDER HEADS RIGHT OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE.GREAT IN SNOW BUT PIECES OF CRAP.NOT TO MENTION HORRIBLE ECM UNITS (All Models) THAT CAUSED NO START CONDITIONS.

remivonrude says:

I bought a 2004 Rubicon for 11.000 with 128.00 miles ..it is a beast..just change the oil and the 4.0 straight six will get you to point A to B

David Chapman says:

The last REAL jeeps were built buy AMC. Every single one after that are pure garbage

D-A-R-K-OGKUSH says:

I drive a 2008 Crown Victoria P71, former detective car. 124k miles and 455 idle hours. Runs perfectly.

They're great cars if you find one that wasn't used hard. But remember, if it wasn't used hard they don't service it under the severe service maintenance schedule.

Abron Hawkins says:

Here’s how Jeep fare well under the following owners:

DaimlerChrysler-Endless money pits
Fiat-Endless money pits
Stellantis-Endless money pits

‘Nuff said

Jeff Jankiewicz says:

A former co-worker of mine had a VW Jetta with the keyfob/transmitter type system. Fob slid into dash. His fob totally gave up the ghost, had to take it to the dealer. His wallet was $500 lighter when he left, but he had his spare key back. Only VW I would own is an old Beetle, easy to fix, good gas mileage is a bonus.

Mark Bergthold says:

Jeep went downhill when Chrysler bought them.

Ren Khachatoorian says:

As Scotty said, if you have a manual transmission, never worry about it. It is great.

Vince says:

From my family's experience, Jeeps have been the utmost reliable and always got us through the worst weather scenarios. We've had Wranglers, Grand Cherokees, and Cherokees. Mind you, we don't have the models with the fancy tech. But when 15in of snow hits, I need to make it to work, being in law enforcement/communications requires a reliable vehicle. Remember, every car company struggles with the first model year bugs.

John The Accountant says:

Those keyless entry and ignitions are a future nightmare.
Something else to go wrong.
What happens when the battery on the key fob or the smart phone runs out of battery.

Frank S says:

Whatever happened to The Club?

Ryan Daniels says:

Tech has no flesh and makes the same sound as us no soul!! And is active and its almost 100yrs and as you seen jesus ,ye see me also, if ye believe in him believe in me also.

Donatello Slappafello says:

I have a 2005 jeep Cherokee, it hasn't been trouble, but it makes me nervous and im always waiting for that shoe to drop. I had an old wrangler with the 4.0 and ill tell ya what, i wasn't very nice to it but that darn thing was just the best engine ever. They should go back to that engine and skip all the nonsense!

ruatonim says:

Scotty, you get bonus points for bringing up the boys from old Top Gear and The Grand Tour. Some of the best shows ever made.

Andrew Hunt says:

Once they stopped using the military proving ground for testing Jeeps, is when I lost respect for them. Like if you compare my second gen Grand Cherokee to one of my co-workers 4th gen regular Cherokee, every time I look at his Jeep, I think "Man you're one good dip away from ripping your front bumper off"
Like if you look at my Jeep head on, more than half the tire is exposed before you reach the bumper.

Kesong Chen-Wang says:

I own a 2015 wrangler. Within 36k miles, it has needed the following maintenence:

-Engine rebuild (blown head gasket)
-rear driveline replaced
-all 4 shocks replaced
-waterpump replacement
-new radiator
-new diff covers
-new spark plugs
-new fuel injectors
-windshield

The only good thing about the jeep is the transmission. It's a 6 speed manual, clutch holds just fine and shifts smooth.

Hopefully the thing runs well moving forward, granted it is mostly made of aftermarket parts now. Next time, I'm buying a used jeep with over 50k miles on it so all of the kinks should be worked out. As of now, I've sank over 10k into the jeep.

Edit:
The windshield breaks about every 6 months, it is near vertical so it catches a lot of debris.

Frank Delfino says:

I'll stick with my 97 Proceed, with 34,000km on it.
