Dmoggscovers says:

Can you do it to a vehicle that doesn’t have a radiator cap, could you do
the same on the expansion tank or overflow resivour?

Tony Cha says:

Do you put the cap back on when engine is still on or turn off the engine
first? Thanks

Richard Schneider says:

Ok so I’m assuming that I need to fill the reserve up to the cold level
(when the engine is cold), but then how do I know how much to add when it’s
running and bubbles are coming out?

Everett Byrom III says:

Of all the sites showing “How to change water pumps or thermostats” no one
mentions this. Thank you so much, it cured my problem

Shannon Wiseman says:

So, my heater in my 05 Altima will not heat at startup, just cold air.
When I start driving and accelerating, it will start to warm up. Someone
told me i needed to burp the car. Is this proceduce the correct one for
this problem?

Hotguy4freeGamingTV says:

i thought the same thing when i replaced the water pump on my jeep. i asked
a mechanic and he said just fill it up and drive it around and the air
bubbles will eventually work themselves out. That seemed to do the trick
for me.

camaroberlinette86 says:

So i went to refill the radiator after an engine swap in my camaro and id
fill it up but it would go right back down to about halfway on the
radiator. Does this mean there is air in the system? There is no fluid
leaking onto the floor or coming out of the water pump or any tubes. This
happens with the car off so it couldnt be leaking anywhere.

Tatyana Valenzuela says:

I recently change my therostat too and I don’t think my radiator got burped
right plz I am a girl n I’m doing this all alone it’s stressful … Last
week or so I just added water I didn’t do what u did turn on car and let
bubbles out I will try Tom so let the car be on and let the bubbles rise ?
How long do you do that ? There’s no leak so I don’t understand why it’s
over heating

M70AB2 says:

Yeah, thanx bro

John Lowe says:

nice jeep what year

JerryRigEverything says:

Awesome! I hope you guys get everything figured out over there.

JerryRigEverything says:

I added while the car was running. Make sure you get all the bubbles out of
the lines by squeezing the tubes.

kj6dwx says:

Changing the radiator, knew about burping it and massaging the hose, but
will add putting it on a “incline” Thanks !

ThePariss333 says:

So that’s the way to bleed the system, put it on jack stand front tires,
turn on the car and push the upper hose with the radiator cap off? Do I
need to push gas pedal and take it to 2000 rpm or not? and how long has to
be running the car, 5, 10 or 15 minutes? How I know all the air was out?
Can I drain it and fill it with distillated water, run it for 5 minutes,
drain again and do the same after come out all clear and then add 50/50
antifreeze and bleed it ?

Tim Stephenson says:

Thanks I changed my water pump and thermostat and I still over heated. I
burped the system but I don’t think I did it proficiently it started
squirtin up at me getting antifreeze everywhere so I closed it I’ll do what
you did with the incline and such but I have a closed system so I would
point mine downhill inatead of up

hacrsred ali says:

sory my problem its gauge oil low when driving the car .thank you

M70AB2 says:

Be careful when doing this, Just changed radiator on my 2JZ Lexus and I let
car idle with full new fluid, it bubbled a little for a half minute then my
water pump started to make clunk sound, I turned off the car. It is new
water pump but you can starve it this way, its fine now tho. I put lid back
on it and that’s it.

JerryRigEverything says:

Sometimes there is just a bubble caught in the hose that needs to get out.
Make sure that you are adding coolant and not just water by itself.

Eric Luberto says:

So my 01 jeep was working good for a day but now its starting to overheat
again. I just had a question. Should you be adding coolant to the radiator
while “blurping” and how long should you do it for?

SirGigalot941 says:

What a breakthru trick!! Engine kept overheating on my 4.0L – removed the
thermostat, checked for water pump shaft play; and STILL had circulation
problems. I’m going to find an inclined driveway and burp away! Much thanks.

Ike Barth says:

98 jeep grand cheorrkee 4.0 will run but dies at idle speed . was running
good this just started happing yesterday. What to check first?

JerryRigEverything says:

Yes, tilt the care up so the engine is higher than the rest of the vehicle.
Then add the coolant directly to the radiator after squeezing the air out
of the tubes.

notarden says:

you are a life saver my good sir 😀 changing my thermostat tomorrow thanks
for all the vids

Tim Stephenson says:

1990 jeep cherokee limited closed system

M70AB2 says:

Yeah, thanx bro

JerryRigEverything says:

Glad I could help!

JerryRigEverything says:

Even sitting up at an angle it should have put coolant through your pump…
are you sure thats what your issue was?

katwheat1981 says:

Me and my dad are going to be changing the raditor and the thermostat in my
Jeep this weekend. Pepboys wanted to charge $1100 for this. Glad I found
this video. I’m a do-it-yourself kinda gal.

SgtPnkks says:

one good thing to have before doing this is one of the spill free funnels
they show in a few other vids on doing this… big help on reducing
potential mess

M70AB2 says:

Yeah, thanx bro,

niel flores says:

i will do this 2morow morning.. 😀 i think this is helpful. 😀 iwill re
comment here what happen to my car after doing this tomorrow morning.. 😀

JerryRigEverything says:

Sure thing! Good luck!

JerryRigEverything says:

Ive never used your method before. I always drain the coolant out using the
drain plug in the bottom of the radiator. Then when I am ready I add the
new coolant to the vehicle. Everything should drain out. It helps if the
car is level, or even tilted forward (nose down) to get the coolant out.

M70AB2 says:

Yeah, thanx bro

hacrsred ali says:

Thank Aarafiq I have a jeep . Pleased to meet you

Eric Luberto says:

Thanks for this I’ve been trying to figure out my overheating problem after
changing my radiator and thermostat I just did this and it seemed to work
my temps. are running at 180-200 on my jeep. Thanks again

MrHurley795 says:

hey just so i do this right, you have the front end on an incline right.
Like the engine is sitting higher than the rear? Also, did you just add
fluid to the coolant tank when it was running, not the radiator? Thanks

hacrsred ali says:

My friend I have a problem in my car jeep cherokee , a pocket Mosher Broken
oil pressure problem

ThePariss333 says:

Hey, It came to me another Q: If I do it and do it until is just clear
water, I have to add 50/50 coolant inside but I just can drain the
radiator, How would I drain the motor and heater core, cause is water all
around inside to add the 50/50 coolant? I hope you get my idea.

JerryRigEverything says:

You can do all of those things. I would make sure that the car is warmed
up, so the thermostat is open, that way the air and coolant can flow
through the tubes.

JerryRigEverything says:

Glad I could help! Have fun!

JerryRigEverything says:

It is most likely the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor.) Check out my other
videos, I have one on how to replace it. It is 30 dollar part, and only
takes about 15 minutes to swap it out.

M70AB2 says:

It was weird, I did this plenty if times and never happened, That same day
after I heard water pump I did it again, I just had to bleed that air or I
would risk bigger problems down the road, second time it was fine, it
didn’t make any sound, I let it heat up to operating temperature and air
leaked out. I have no idea why it was starving itself like this. Everything
is ok now tho system cools fune.

M70AB2 says:

Yeah, thanx bro

JerryRigEverything says:

Nice, Im glad it worked itself out. Watch it going up big hills though.
