In this video, we tackle a customer’s estimate for AC repair work on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, which we believe is excessive. Our mechanic takes apart the dashboard and performs thorough vehicle diagnostics to correctly identify the car problems. We aim to provide an honest auto repair solution.
The customer received a $4,000 estimate for the car repair. Our mechanic investigates persistent car problems by taking apart the dashboard to prove the estimate was excessive. We focus on the air conditioning system, providing a detailed look at the diagnostic process for this hvac challenge and sharing diy auto insights.

You should share the technician in the dealership for the scams that they are doing to hard-working people. The technically are robbing these people of money without doing the Work why wouldn’t you want to expose bad people. Their name’s pictures should be blasted all over the Internet, so no one goes to them for any work. Those technicians need to start recording and taking pictures of what they are doing to the customers cars or the customer needs to stand next to them or go out there and look at what they have did so the customer could be a witness of them taking everything off along with pictures.
Stealerships seem to over quote on jobs they don't want.
New website looks good Ray. Maybe add hours of business
Someone needs to police the outright fraud and dishonesty in your industry. I am very impressed that you have picked up this heavy weight Sir. PLEASE, watch your back.
Right On Ray !!!
Nice job captain acetone!
I know that paperwork anywhere.
Chrysler, jeep, dodge, whatever dealer service departments seem to always be the scummiest!
Dealerships are nothing but a scam for vehicle repairs. I myself stay far away from them….
Ray could start a new business as a Forensic Court Claims Investigator
After more thought, here's what really pisses me off. The test to confirm that the condenser is leaking is to put your refrigerant detector at the discharge line for all the condensed water from the condenser. If there's refrigerant leaking from the condenser, it can go two places: out the vents in the cab of the car, or out the discharge hose under the car. If you detect refrigerant there, it's only causes can be a leaking condenser, a leaking line to the condenser under the dash, or a leaking seal where the line connects to the condenser (or possibly also the expansion valve if it's located under the dash, too). Thieves, all of them. Maybe a great new Youtube channel would be to set up cars with hidden cameras to send to suspected rip off shops and catch them dirty and publicize it to the world.
I work as a mechanic in a highly rated shop where I live…we're usually the second opinion from some stealerships around here when customers get a high estimate…saved our customers a shit ton of money and retain them for long term work. Honesty goes a long LONG way.
Local DA needs to roll a few vehicles (driven by women; always robbed by stealerships) with slightly low refrigerant thru that shop.
Problem being, most large main dealers are owned by greed-pigs that either aspire to public office or insulate themselves from rightful prosecution by giving heavy bribes^H^H^H^H^H^H contributions to what passes for local law enforcement these corrupt, dark days.
