2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FRONT BRAKE REPLACEMENT DIY

2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FRONT BRAKE REPLACEMENT DIY

Thank you for watching. Please leave a thumbs up and remember to subscribe.

I just bought this car from an auction and it needed front brakes, I made this video for other Jeep owners having the same problem and want to save hundreds of dollars.

We were out of brake grease so I did not put it on in the video,
but I do recommend it if you don’t want your brakes to squeak.

Hello, what size allen? I would like to buy one that fits on my ratchet. Thanks

Nicholas Harvilla says:

For the driver-side front brake pad the outside one to be exact, does it matter if the little metal tab is on the top or bottom. I replaced mine and the previous one was on the bottom so I replaced it with the matching pad. As far as I could tell they looked symmetrical. Any input would help thanks.

roadkillmatt says:

thank you I have watched around 30 of the other brake style trying to my brake style on my 01 and you are the only one that I have seen with this style.

Neil Goldsmith says:

LZDEN says:

when i do this job i connect a tube onto the bleed nipple before opening the bleed nipple and place it into a jar so when the piston is forced back the brake fluid goes into the jar and not back into the brake resovior filling it up…;-)

UBBERTANKER says:

hack job, didnt lube the slides or contact points, also did not machine or replace the rotors which is critrical for proper burnishing of the pads

Luigi H says:

You didn't bleed your lines before putting the wheel back on?

I just changed my front brakes for the first time after watching this video. Everything was just fine. Exact same shitty break system. And did everything in the video, stops on a dime with no problems. Great video. Thank you. I got gouged on a break job last time that did not last 6 months. I try to do any work I can. Good Mechanics deserve well paid for their work but some over charge and hide behind a Secretary. Got to find a better shop or keep learning where I can -thanks again.

MrAsphaltassault says:

Leave out steps we know how to do in your vids like taking a tire off and on. Yeah I am critical but I feel that is my job to bitch and be negative. It is also the only thing I could say negatively other than its a good idea to lube the calliper slide pins. Good job

Jeff Taylor says:

Yes those were ATE brake calipers.

Jmiller8083 says:

No I bought those brakes from Oreilly Auto Parts

Jmiller8083 says:

Jmiller8083 says:

yea i was out when i was making the video, and i forgot to mention it in the video

Denis Schneider says:

White Ninja says:
