Andrew Hare says:

My girl friends 95 grand cherokee has an issue where the doors will only
lock from the switches and not unlock from the switches any ideas?

Judy Rodriguez says:

I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The other night I was driving home
and my interior dome lights kept flickering on and off & the door locks
were switching on and off too. By the time I got home, the interior dome
lights wouldn’t turn off and I had to disconnect my battery. Do you have
any idea what might be going on or what you think it might be? Any
suggestions are welcomed.

Tim Whealdon says:

Alex i was wondering if you could tell me what goes to that C6 plug or what
does it go to i have a 98 xj and its pulling about a half an amp unless i
unplug either the monster fuse under hood or pull the pug at C6 the wires
coming out of the plug are bk/wh and red/violet im hoping you have an
answer thank you

DragonKin0110 says:

alex, i have a 2000-XJ…. my problem is that the door locks are constantly
trying to unlock the door, as if i am just holding the button down to
unlock. sometimes the rear lift gate lock jitters, when i press the
driverside button sometimes it auctates the unlock function.. also when i
press the switch i hear the relay click in the passanger side kick panel.
any advice?

Kevin Sanborn says:

Hello Alex, my looks on my 1999 Jeep Sport do not work, but I hear a
clicking sound on the right hand door. Do you have any idea what I need to
fix. Thanks in advance.

burak yurttas says:

hi i have 99 grand cherokee and my driver power lock does not lock other
doors but passanger door locks rear doors. what would be my problem? thanks

VR says:

Hello Alex, Could you, please, help my with advice? I have 96 Grand
Cherokee and my right rear lock only gets 6 volts instead of 12… So it
works 1 time out of 3. All other locks work fine. Where should I start
looking for power loss? Can this be because of Drivers Door module (I had
water damage in that module).

Willie Buggs says:

The only door lock that works is my driver door.and only 2 of my windows
work on the driver side.what could cause that to happen?

NamiIshikawa says:

Send me some plane tickets. 😛

fatboy19831 says:

This is an excellent video. Thank you. I have been looking all over my
Cherokee for the master door lock relay. Who would have thought it would be
in the passenger side door? I a few moments you have given me a complete
understanding of the entire door lock system in the Cherokee.

Vladimir Roman says:

so if i want to use a customised remote control for the actuators, where i
should conect it , i have the diagram here if you can help me i will
apreciate it

David W. LeBlanc says:

Alex come to Miami and Help me with my Locks 🙂

NamiIshikawa says:

Do you hear the click coming from the passenger door? If so, it sounds like
the the wires that engage the door lock motors from the passenger door
module are broken/disconnected.

Ryan Haar says:

I have a 02 Grand Cherokee. Just recently the remotes stopped unlocking the
doors. The door switches work, and the remotes will lock the doors, but
neither remote will unlock the doors. This means every time I enter the
vehicle the alarm goes off because I have to use the key. This is getting
old fast. Any idea where the problem would be?

VR says:

Thank you for your reply! I will check the ground wires

Javier Arias says:

Hello Alex I’m doing a swap on my xj from manual to electric Windows and
locks how much wiring has to be done I have a donor xj but need to pull the
right wiring and keep the xj in running conditions minus electric Windows

Pavel Lunegov says:

Hi ! thanks for the video! I have a question.Today i started to install
remote start system and made a mistake. In a drivers kick panel there is a
connector with bunch of wires and one of them uses negative to open
doors.it works correctly but another one wire is positive when you pushing
the button on a drivers side.I connected a positive wire from security
system to this wire and after that only the open position works while
pressing the button on a drivers side. All fuses and relays are good.

NamiIshikawa says:

I am not entirely familiar with the wiring setup for the Grand Cherokee.
Usually when less voltage is coming through there is a bad ground wire
connection on the body wiring harness.

MA022412 says:

The door and lock does not make any noises at all its completly silent

MA022412 says:

All my power locks on my 2000 jeep cherokee sport XJ work except the front
passenger lock. what do you think it is?

Jason Wilson says:

I can here a “click” when I try to unlock my doors but they don’t unlock,
and it don’t matter which door I try to unlock from, nothing works, just a
“click!” I have a 01 sport. Annoyed!

Jason Wilson says:

JBWilson1301@gmail.com Email me what I need to do. Broken wire in rubber
boot on drivers side maybe? How do I get the boot off without destroying
it.

personalityprofile says:

I’m having the same problem with my power locks working intermittently on
my ’01 XJ Limited. What’s the best place to start? Cleaning the contacts in
inside the passenger side locking module?

Miah S says:

if it is the only door, and it makes a ‘grinding’ or ‘screeching’ noise,
you’ll likely have to replace the door lock actuator.

John Ruckman says:

I have this same exact problem, any luck figuring it out?

cadeau freeman says:

I had my mechanic fix my window on the passengers side and when I tried to
lock my doors, the locks was not working any longer. What could be the
cause of that?

KSERGEIBY says:

Oh Im sorry – car is WJ 2003

fatboy19831 says:

The power wire going to the switch is most likely broken. In the drivers
side boot. It is described in the Video. I had that same problem.

CoElysian says:

Hi Alex, (97 XJ) the other day I took off and took apart my passenger
module to clean the window contacts because they had stopped working. When
I put it back on the windows worked again! But the locks did not. The small
switch itself made the small ticking noise when u moved it side to side but
non of the locks worked. Sense that, my driver side master lock doesnt work
either… Do you have any ideas how i might fix this or what I need to
replace? THANKS!

KSERGEIBY says:

Hello Alex. Can you tell me how to decouple passager door connector (white
thing attached to the door). I was able to pull it out from the door by
pressing 2 catchers and I can see the black locker in it, but I was not
able to decouple it. Maybe i juts need to use the force ? Few words would
be helpfull. Should I just move the plastic lock, or should i remove it
compleatly. Is there anything esle I need to do?

jerrald silalack says:

Hey I have a2002 jeep Cherokee and my passenger door locks and drivr door
lock are on and off. Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. If you
can please help me out th at would be great

NamiIshikawa says:

I am not familiar with the WJ model. However, if there is a red plastic
tab, that is a lock. Slide it over to unlock the connector. With some
larger connectors it may have a small bolt holding them together. Simply
unbolt it to get it apart.
